This is Cookie. She's 15 year old Border Collie who I love so much! She's not the spriest of dogs and spends most of her days sleeping. She is so sweet and food obsessed. She walks really unsteady but trusts you enough that when you want her to get up, she will.
Her family was very worried leaving her behind for a week, but I am taking very good care of her :)
I made these cookies for someone who put together some baskets for their teachers in their childs grade. Each teacher received cookies of their favorite things.

Cookie Friend talked about her nieces loving the snowman puzzle cookie she made for them at Christmas. With the grandchildren's fascination for Toy Story, I decided to try Mr. Potato Head. Jack played it cool and distant at first, but later he was rearranging and talking to his cookie. Such fun!
Personally, I think this looks much more dangerous than the shot with texture added.

Shortbread is a type of biscuit (cookie) which is traditionally made from one part white sugar, two parts butter, and three parts oatmeal flour. The use of plain white (wheat) flour is common today, and other ingredients like ground rice or cornflour are sometimes added to alter the texture.

I just love love love the TKO cookies sold by Bouchon in New York (and possibly their other few locations elsewhere in the country, although for reasons incomprehensible to me, not in Chicago).
Here, I was comparing their holiday tree-shaped TKO cookie with the regular circular one.
I think the proportion of white ganache vs cookie must be different between the two and I was trying to get a sense for that. The original regular circular one works better and I think the ratio of filling to cookie is different.
Of course, if I had more regular access to TKO cookies then I would have taken this investigation to another level by measuring the exact amount of filling vs cookie in both, but I couldn't afford to waste two cookies on this.
Cookies for my Goodedaughter's 5th birthday. Her Mum is no mean cake decorator and had made a stunning JCB cake. Not wanting to cause a glut of cake I opted to contribute some cookies for the party.

These cookies have a lovely fragrance resulting from the use of cornmeal and orange zest. I was tempted to use commercially sold jams (I admit, I am lazy!) but it wouldn't do justice to these really yummy cookies.
