I was very careful that, even though Danny should leave some cookies and milk for Santa, he didn't leave too many of my favorites.
Cookie dough baked right into vanilla bean cake filled and topped with homemade vanilla buttercream and loaded up with chocolate chips.
When Cookie arrived, he had very few feathers due to the psychological condition of feather plucking. The only in-tact feathers he had when I got him were the ones above his neck. The rest of the body had only downey feathers.
I've had Cookie for a month, since March 31, 2007. He is already quite bonded to me, and is no longer plucking his feathers. In this picture, the tail feathers are starting to grow back. He is preening to redistribute the oil in the glands at the base of his tail.
What could be better, Baking and Photography!
Just for the record, the cookies are Chewy, Oatmeal, Raisin, Walnut.
I made a batch of cookies today. The recipe is one I got from a random DC cookbook - "Capital Cuisine". It's a book of recipes contributed from important politico types in the District. Guess whose cookie recipe this is? Hillary Clinton's. Ha.
They actually look a lot better than they taste...they're a bit dry a flavorless, kinda like Hillary Clinton! (badum-ching! Thank you, I'm here all night...try the vegetarian veal!)
Hillary's recipe called for Crisco, instead of butter, which is what I normally use. Now I know why my cookies taste better...butter is WONDERFUL. Crisco makes cookies rise and look delicious, but butter makes them taste delicious. I may bake another batch later in the week, with butter and maybe without the oatmeal.
A plain Cookie dressed up for heart felt moments!
