Project 31: Day 1
Today I was transferring some recently successful recipes into my Big Girl Cookbook. Which I LOVE.
And I am looking forward to this project. It's been too long since I've given my camera the attention it deserves and I have missed it. Hopefully this gives me the creative kick in the pants and the motivation to shoot more.
Newspaper article about actress Pat Harty and bread making. Pat starred in TV shows from the 1950's (Blondie, The Occasional Wife, The Bob Crane Show) and her latest IMDB profile lists her last TV appearance on "The District" in 2003.

Six claws on the front paws, five on the rear ones. These dogs are small, around 5 kgs, and quite unlike the ones used for sledding. On the taiga one occasionally sees descendants of sled dogs kept as pets or companions, but no self-respecting reindeer herder on the Taiga admitted to using dogs for transport. Supposedly only the lowly "forest Nenets" still use dogs for sledding.

I used to catalog all my books with a Library of Congress catalog number. That's why the older books look like library books.
I wanted poeple to be able to read the titles when viewed at 100%. and I wanted to show the books without distortion. I measured the height of the bookcase, from the floor to the top of the highest book. Then I set the tripod so the lense was halfway up. I used the spirit levels built into the camera to make sure the camera was exactly level. I shot from as far away as possible to avoid the distortion from a wide angle lens. This is all the stuff you usually avoid because it makes an image look flat but it worked in this case. The David bust keeps the image from looking too flat.

Undated Heinz cookbook. If I've read the introduction to the book properly, it might have been published c. 1933, but it's so pristine that I have a hard time believing it's so old!
