The BMW 335is is the crown jewel in the newly enhanced BMW 3 Series coupe and convertible lineup. The new model features BMW's twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 engine, tuned for 320 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. This is the same engine used in the Z4 sDrive35is, where it's rated at 335 hp.
When asked in a group interview why the same engine is rated at 335 hp in the BMW Z4is, BMW officials had a difficult time relaying a clear explanation. First they claimed it was because the six-speed manual tranny couldn't handle much more torque (the manual is not offered in the Z4is). Then another German BMW representative said it was a marketing decision. Lastly, a U.S. official claimed that it was really about a more restricted intake on the 335is because of packaging. He says that the German misunderstood the question and that the product planner (who came up with the original transmission answer) just didn't know what he was talking about.
The car channels its power through a standard six-speed manual transmission, although an optional seven-speed dual-clutch automated manual will also be offered. The seven-speed tranny also offers launch control, which allows the engine to achieve a 10-second burst of up to 370 lb-ft of torque.
BMW says the 335is coupe will close the 0-60-mph gap in 5 seconds flat when equipped with the optional transmission. The convertible version is two-tenths slower.
Consistent with the general 2011 updates across the entire 3 Series lineup, the 335is also receives new high-depth LED taillights, new xenon adaptive headlights with LED-lighted corona rings, and the new hood, which integrates a freshened BMW kidney grille.
Beyond those updates, the 335is will be further distinguished by BMW M Sport enhancements which include comprehensive M aerodynamic body pieces meant to manage airflow, a larger new airdam to promote cooling, and kidney grille surrounds in high-gloss black. Also new for the 335is is a free-flowing sport exhaust system which has been specially tuned to a satisfying, low rumble.
Additional changes include Shadowline black window trim, wing mirror caps in high-gloss black, and standard 18-inch light-alloy wheels in ferric gray color, with 19-inch light-alloy M wheels as an option. And just to make certain that no one misses the car's exclusivity, 335is badges are mounted on each front fender and the edge of the trunk lid.
M Sport upgrades to the 335is continue inside with an M Sport steering wheel, sport seats, anthracite headliner, M door sills, M driver's footrest, M gearshift knob and high-quality stainless-steel sport pedals. More exclusive 335is badging also adorns the car's sporty interior.

Chevrolet Corvette 1977 Convertible.
The car is a 1977 Corvette that was purchased by Frank the owner in 1977 from Palmyra Motors, Palmyra, NY.
As some of you know that there were no convertibles built between 1975 to 1983. The car was a T-top car that was converted to a convertible with the experienced hands at The Fiberglass Body, Hawthorne, CA. It has a fiberglass front bumper and a 1981 fiberglass rear bumper. A 1979 Pace Car front spoiler. The convertible top parts are from 1968-1975 donor cars. All the emblems were removed and filled. All the body work was completed at The Fiberglass Body. The final bodywork and paint was done by the California Body Works, Hawthorne, CA. Black primer and block sanded. Epoxy black primer and block sanded. Final black paint and clear coated. Color sanded and buffed. I did most of the mechanical and all of the electrical work on the car.

HTI used to import some half decent 1/64 diecasts up until very recently. Unlicensed yes but ultimately pretty easy to distinguish what they were based on and thus quite realistic in their own way. What they produce now is sadly a million miles away from realistic and ironically have become ever more popular with U.K. retailers to the point there can't be many who DONT sell them!
This play worn charity shop found yellow convertible is undoubtably meant to represent a VW New Beetle even down to an accurate dashboard design and dates from a time when this and similar castings were readily available in various Teamsterz branded sets. Makes you wonder how it all went so wrong!

This is one of the very few surviving 110 'Pink Panthers' to have found its way into preservation. This 110 came out of active service in June 2005 and we have maintained it exactly as it was in operational service. The public rarely saw these vehicles for obvious reasons.
The base vehicle was built in 1984 and converted by Glover Webb of Hamble. When new they were painted NATO Green and fitted with a full soft top with doors and 750.16 wheels
The vehicles were and upgraded throughout their lifetime, with the last major upgrade on this one being completed in 1991 by Marshalls of Cambridge when a replacement chassis was fitted together with brake upgrades, extra fuel tanks and modifications to the roll cage.
These vehicles ran on their limits with the amount of fuel carried plus the weaponry, ammunition and kit for the three crew members. The vehicles were active in both Gulf Wars and also in other areas of conflict.
This vehicle was loaned to Land Rover before coming to us in 2012.

Chevrolet Corvette
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"The Chevrolet Corvette, known colloquially as the Vette, is a sports car manufactured by Chevrolet. The car has been produced through seven generations.
The first model, a convertible, was designed by Harley Earl and introduced at the GM Motorama in 1953 as a concept show car. Myron Scott is credited for naming the car after the type of small, maneuverable warship called a corvette.
Originally built in Flint, Michigan and St. Louis, Missouri, the Corvette is currently manufactured in Bowling Green, Kentucky and is the official sports car of the Commonwealth of Kentucky."

- Third generation-C3 (1968–1982)
- Fourth generation-C4 (1984–1996)
"The Chevrolet Corvette (C4) was a sports car that was produced by Chevrolet for the 1984 through 1996 model years.
The convertible returned In 1986, as did higher performing engines, exemplified by the 375 hp (280 kW) LT5 found in the ZR-1.
In early March 1990, the ZR-1 would set a new record for the highest 24 hour-5,000 mile land-speed by going over 175 mph (282 km/h).
Though prices rose even as sales declined, the fourth generation Corvette won its own loyal following as one of the United States' most desirable sports cars.
The last C4 was produced on June 20, 1996."

"In 1986, the second Corvette Indy Pace Car was released.
It was the first convertible Corvette since 1975.
A Center High Mounted Signal Light (CHMSL) – a third center brake light – was added in 1986 to comply with safety regulations. While the color of the pace car used in the race was yellow, all 1986 convertibles also had an Indy 500 emblem mounted on the console, making any color a "pace car edition". In 1987, the B2K twin-turbo option became available from the factory."

Inside Line says: BMW may not have worked out its public rationale to the lower horsepower figure, but that doesn't make the 335is any less desirable. — Kelly Toepke, News Editor
