This 1960-built 6.5 litre Oldsmobile Convertible, 779 XUT, was a popular visitor at the Brooklands Classic Car Day on 30th March 2024.
Over the top, extreme, but beautifully restored. The extravaganza in car design lasted only a few years. So, did people actually like it? How come the tailfin cars were within a few years replaced with the clean crisp designs of 1963-1966? As if car byers were ashamed of their own taste just a few years earlier.

I do not drive (get to ride in it often)not his everyday car.
He takes me shopping in his bmw (this boot is not big enough & and; its in the front)
My son is 38 Owns his own home lives alone(does not live with me)
He does not work (likes stocks and shares)hence number plate.
He has a girlfriend.(6 year rel).
All of GM’s divisions except Cadillac and GMC had their ‘internediate’ body size models such as the Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme above. Chevrolet had the Chevelle, Pontiac their Tempest/LeMans and Buick their Skylark. They all were styled and packaged attractively. The most popular muscle cars of the era were based on these intermediate size models of each brand.
