I think contemplation is a good thing to do during the weekend. Just having thoughts and reflections, positive and perhaps some less positive, and taking the time to arrange and reflect on them.

So, have yourself a thoughtfuLL and reflective weekend! I know I certainly will...

Cheers,

AJ

sustained investigation: The portrayal of adolescence through the lens of film.

materials: my sister, hot tub, my camera

idea: Most teen movies have a scene where they are in a hot tub, most times they are thinking of something they had recently done wrong/experienced.

process: My sister and I visited family friends and they had a hot tub. I saw the opportunity for this photo and once I found the right one I edited it.

"Being from South Dakota" means being able to have beautiful back drops or subjects for my photos in minutes. Whether I am taking photos of my children at the outdoor campus, iconic scenes such as Mt Rushmore, or the peaceful prairies at night; I am amazed everyday by our breathtaking landscapes.

That's my first try at uploading a video to Flickr (and almost my first try at video at all...!)

It is a place that I really like, I wanted to share it with you.

UPDATE : more background informations !

As William nicely suggested it, I'll give more infos about the place, the time related to this video...

This place, named "Roche Saint-Martin", overhangs Saint-Dié, the city I live in. A belvedere has been made at the top of this huge rock, from which you can have a break while contemplating Saint-Dié and the forest nearby.

You can park your car just a few hundred meters away from the rock (or you can choose to come by feet using the numerous paths that lead to it from the bottom of the hill). It is very close from the city itself; Saint-Dié's inhabitants use to come here to watch the fireworks displayed above the city on the 14th of July, France's National Day.

I like to come here to enjoy the sun and feel closer to nature than I am at work, or in the city itself. That day, I took some time to reflect on photography, the work I did for the past weeks, as well as the kind of pictures that I'd like to work on from now on.
