We have quite a few squirrels on the property because we have large oak trees. The stump he's sitting on is from a 150-year-old oak tree that we had to cut down last fall. I use it now to feed the squirrels & birds. This is the only squirrel that has a very dark brown triangular-shaped band across his nose. Not quite sure how that happens. Do you know?

It's been a busy week.. hardly been on flickr, haven't taken enough shots and haven't been inspired much when taking the ones I need to. Which inspired this, me, small, thinking, only seeing the little corner I'm in... need to turn around and launch into that space beside me....

Wall-e ran across my rosary today and asked what it was for, and what was the meaning behind it. I tried to describe it to him the best way I could.

My wife, Kacee, sitting on the edge at the Green River overlook at Canyonlands NP outside Moab, UT. Probably one of the most beautiful, exotic, and stark views in the world, it gives you an idea of the character of this place.
Natasha and Mulan look up at the ceiling of the Temple of Heaven as Mulan tells Natasha a story about the spirits of her ancestors.
We ran into Mulan one evening as she was leaving the pavilion for the night. She offered to let Natasha be her last photo of the evening. Yeah! Unfortunately I didn't have my flash with me that night. Not to worry though, I would just use the video light on my phone. Of course I would need Natasha to cooperate, something she was in no mood to do.
To quell her anxiety Mulan offered to take us into the Tomb Warrior exibit room. There Natasha relaxed a bit and sat in Mulans lap for some portraits. After a few photos Mulan decided to talk with Natasha for a bit, before taking her on a tour of the exhibit and using it to tell Natasha stories about her battles with the Hun armies. A very memorable experience for her that seemed to last a lot longer than the ten minutes my camera says it did.
