After being discharged unceremoniously to the curb with the household refuse, rejected for employment with several pie filling companies, and not eligible for unemployment benefits, Jack now contemplates the indignity of being composted with apple cores, browned broccoli and unwanted cantaloupe rinds. Oh, why couldn't some teenager come along now and smash him to bring his misery to a quick and merciful end?

I think I anthropomorphize just a little too much sometimes, but that is one sad expression! ;)
