Container and roll of painter's tape. I use this to tape prints to my study wall. This allows me to live with the prints and notice changes I might want to make. No damage to wall paint.

Taken for Macro Mondays' theme: Container.

Crazy Tuesday theme for this week is "Container and contents"

Brightly coloured shipping containers converted into office and studio spaces. Completed in 2002, Container City 2 is located at Orchard Place, Trinity Buoy Wharf, London, England. 2021.

Hindhead Railway Station

Notice that, though she's fully loaded with containers, she's riding as if she's empty... I'm guessing she's carrying empties back to get refilled.

I think container ships are beautiful anyway, but all the different colored containers on this one was very striking to both myself and my lady (aka the Hunchback of the Jeremiah O'Brien).

Cool History!! I passed 1000 views on this image, just days before its one-year anniversary... still no comments nor favorites, and it's never been in Explore as far as I know, yet so many people are seeing it. That's really cool. Thanks, everyone!!

For Freight Car Friday here's a then and now comparison. This is a look at some articulated double stack well cars entrained on Norfolk Southern train 264 (intermodal Park Manor Yard in Chicago to Ayer, MA) running as train Z264 on CSXT trackage rights seen crossing the ancient double stone arch bridge over the icy Quabog River at about MP 75.5 on modern day CSXT's Boston Subdivision, the once and forever Boston and Albany Railroad. This is the new routing for this service as described in the previous post and plainly illustrates one of the main reasons why....the ability to double stack containers, something that was precluded from happening on its traditional ex Boston and Maine routing because of restricted clearances inside the 4.75 mile long Hoosac Tunnel.

This train always features dozens of JB Hunt Containers as the Arkansas carrier has a partnership with Norfolk Southern and BNSF and is an anchor customer for this train. JB Hunt is the fourth largest trucking company in the US by revenue an began business in 1961 growing from 5 trucks to a fleet of 13,000. More importantly the company owns the largest fleet of privately owned containers in the US with over 100,000 and plans to grow to 150K!

This commitment to intermodal goes back to company founder Johnnie Bryan Hunt's landmark 1989 deal with then Santa Fe Railroad president Mike Haverty.

You can read more about that here:

Mr. Hunt passed away two decades ago but I can't help but imagine he'd be pleased to see this train and the investment made by the railroad in support of their long standing partnership.

Taken during a photo walk around downtown Vancouver, BC. First day out photographing with my new Nikon Z5II. The camera performed flawlessly, got some great shots, and overall had a good day out in the city.
