Container shopping for our new/recycled FREITAG Shop in Zurich. The shop is entirely made from used freight containers.
It looks like the potato plants are pretty happy. We just put more soil in around their roots to keep the potatoes underground. Are potatoes the only plants you have to grow this way.

Côte d’Ivoire Terminal has taken delivery of six electric fleet gantry cranes and 14 electric terminal tractors. Following the delivery of six electric gantry cranes starting this summer, the terminal is on track to be operational in November this year. The new Côte d’Ivoire Terminal will be the second container terminal at the Port of Abidjan, built and operated by a Bolloré Ports and APM Terminals consortium.

I mounted two fiberglass ladders to the side of our tool shed. It's nice to get them off the ground and out of the way. Drilling through the shipping container wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but making enough room on the other side to tighten the nuts was no easy task. I should have used rivets.

On the same railing: "Storage Containers for Rent" and "1 Bed Flat to Let." If you look closely, the "1" used to be a "2". My theory: the flat's made out of containers. They rented out a container - one less bedroom. Look around the flat before you put your money down.
How they get to the ones at the back I'll never know.

Saw this container ship yesterday at Tsawwassen. It's the APL Gwangyang, based in Singapore, and it carries the equivalent of 10,000 20-ft shipping containers. If you think that's a lot, there are ships that can carry nearly double that!
Container ships too large to transit the canal have their containers offloaded and transported 50 miles to the other end of the canal via rail to another container ship waiting there.
Despite the cost, this is far less expensive than the 9000 mile, 3 week journey around the tip of South America.
