During a storm from the Northwest on the 21st of february 1993, a 20-foot container washed upon the beach of Vlieland, the Netherlands.

The very heavy container was salvaged with the help of the Leopard I armoured recovery vehicle of the CSK tank gunnery range on the island.

The container appeared to be laden with sacks of Bigolac milk powder, a cattle-food.

After the salvage the container was shipped back to the factory.

The images in the set give an impression of this nightly operation in stormy weather on the water covered Vliehors.

Another photograph for my 'This Industrial Land' (working title) series. The project is a scrutiny of commercial land in Ireland, and how it is used or not used to it's potential.

The site presented above was a commercial one. It is another location that I pass daily on my way to college. It is situated just off the N7, on route to Dublin. When I was taking the photographs I expected more from the site, so am somewhat disappointed.

A slightly later shot of the container ship in the prior shot.
