The 302d Airlift Wing (302 AW) is an Air Reserve Component (ARC) of the United States Air Force. It is assigned to the Twenty-Second Air Force, Air Force Reserve Command, stationed at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado.
The Modular Airborne FireFighting System or MAFFS is a self-contained unit used for aerial firefighting that can be loaded onto a C-130 Hercules, a military cargo transport, which then allows the aircraft to be used as an air tanker against wildfires. This allows the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) to utilize military aircraft from the Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve to serve as an emergency backup resource to the civilian air tanker fleet.

Three images used to create the previous HDR composite. Though exposure was bracketted there's only one stop between them, and overall they're underexposed - I could have done a better job of centering the exposure - being underexposed resulted in the final image being quite noisy. The blue colour cast is the result of a cheap neutral density filter. I can never get the horizon straight.
