I found this spot during my ride 2 mornings prior, along route US 28, known as Moonshiner, just past the Fontana Dam in North Carolina. Instantly I knew I had to come back. Only early in the morning, it seems, there is this amazing low fog that hugs the river as it winds in between the forest covered mountains. I knew I had to capture it.
When I got to this spot for my shoot, I was greeted with such a dense low fog that I couldn't even see the mountains in the near distance. As the fog cleared, it became a thinly veiled mist gently glazing the low mountains and river. With blue skies and yet still many clouds below the hilltops, I knew I had my shot.
The final component, after firing off several long exposure shots, came when some fishermen dropped their boat into the lake and took off towards the bridge that is obscured by fog in this photo.
As their wake settled, I decided to increase my shutter speed to 1/4s (and open up my aperture to compensate) and ended up with the beautiful paint-like water surface you see here.
This image invites me and evokes feelings of being in nature and in the mountains. I hope it conveys something magical for you, as well. Enjoy!

The exterior is finished in PPG Indian Ink-Well Blue with custom brass and chrome trim, a removable brushed-metal roof, and a custom interior by Ron Mangus. It rides on wire wheels with Cadillac centers and whitewall tires, blending 1930s Art Deco styling influences (like those from coachbuilders such as Saoutchik or Figoni et Falaschi) with modern components. It sold at Worldwide Auctioneers' 13th Annual Auburn Auction (held September 3-5, 2020, in Auburn, IN) for $550,000.

Nanjing Road (Chinese: 南京路; pinyin: Nánjīng Lù; Shanghainese: Noecin Lu) is a road in Shanghai, the eastern part of which is the main shopping district of Shanghai. It is one of the world's busiest shopping streets, along with Fifth Avenue, Oxford Street, Orchard Road, Takeshita Street and the Champs-Élysées. The street is named after Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu province and the former capital of the Republic of China. Today's Nanjing Road comprises two sections, Nanjing Road East and Nanjing Road West.
Nanjing Road is located in the city center, running in a west–east direction. Its eastern section is in Huangpu District and extends from The Bund west to People's Square. The western section begins at People's Square and continues westward towards Jing'an District.
East Nanjing Road is a dedicated commercial zone. At its eastern end is the central section of the Bund, featuring the Peace Hotel. Immediately west of the Bund precinct was traditionally the hub of European-style restaurants and cafes, although in recent years these have become less of a feature as the demographics of visitors to Nanjing Road have shifted from affluent local residents to visitors from around the country. Close by is the Central Market, a century-old outdoor market today specialising in electronic components and digital media. Further west is the Nanjing Road pedestrian mall. Located here are most of Shanghai's oldest and largest department stores, as well as a variety of domestic retail outlets, and some traditional eateries with a long history. From the perspective of the historical development of Nanjing East Road, the start and redevelopment of this road were driven by the pursuit of commerce and image. The commercialization of Nanjing East Road has both a promotion and a restrictive effect.

Water is your body's principal chemical component, making up, on average, 60 percent of your body weight. Every system in your body depends on water. For example, water flushes toxins out of vital organs, carries nutrients to your cells and provides a moist environment for ear, nose and throat tissues.
Lack of water can lead to dehydration, a condition that occurs when you don't have enough water in your body to carry out normal functions. Even mild dehydration can drain your energy and make you tired.
Every day you lose water through your breath, perspiration, urine and bowel movements. For your body to function properly, you must replenish its water supply by consuming beverages and foods that contain water. If you drink enough fluid so that you rarely feel thirsty and produce 1.5 liters (6.3 cups) or more of colorless or slightly yellow urine a day, your fluid intake is probably adequate.
You may need to modify your total fluid intake depending on how active you are, the climate you live in, your health status, and if you're pregnant or breast-feeding.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek. I hope you all know that I appreciate your comments however, awards and invites aren't necessary.

From Wikipedia:
Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve is an American national park that conserves an area of large sand dunes up to 750 feet (229 m) tall on the eastern edge of the San Luis Valley, and an adjacent national preserve in the Sangre de Cristo Range, in south-central Colorado, United States.
The park contains the tallest sand dunes in North America. The dunes cover an area of about 30 sq mi (78 km2) and are estimated to contain over 1.2 cubic miles (5 billion cubic metres) of sand. Sediments from the surrounding mountains filled the valley over geologic time periods. After lakes within the valley receded, exposed sand was blown by the predominant southwest winds toward the Sangre de Cristos, eventually forming the dunefield over an estimated tens of thousands of years. The four primary components of the Great Sand Dunes system are the mountain watershed, the dunefield, the sand sheet, and the sabkha. Ecosystems within the mountain watershed include alpine tundra, subalpine forests, montane woodlands, and riparian zones.
PT&P custom designed seventy-eight figure 2000 heavy duty pipe saddles for two 24" insulated ductile iron pipelines. The two pipelines are routed beneath a 650' bridge crossing over a river in upper New York State. The insulation is 3" thick with high density polyethylene jacketing. Axial movements due to expansion can approach 3". In order for the jacketing to avoid being damaged when displacements occur, the saddles have been lined with polished stainless steel.

Component elements for a commissioned project. The build itself is finished, but want to bring it back into the shop for some decal work before publishing.
Got a couple other finished builds waiting on similar glow-ups - people on the Mecabricks side know what I'm referencing. ;)
