A component from inside one of my son's computers is amazing to me how something unseen can look quite attractive ( to me anyway) the sky blue color slightly reflects in the metal.

This "Canopy Express" Model T Ford carriage was manufactured May 8, 1919 at the Ford assembly plant, Iron Mountain, Michigan. The plant encompassed 40,000 acres of hardwood timber used in the production of Ford vehicles featuring wood components.

No two authentic Model T wooden bodies are alike. Each body was custom-built at a private carriage shop, after the customer purchased the T-chassis from a Ford dealer.

Specifications:

• H.P. 22.5 (top speed 40-45 mph)

• Fuel - 10 gal. tank located under front seat - gravity fed to engine

• Electric start - 1st year available was 1919 (prior - crank start only $75 option)

• Electric head/tail lights with kerosene lights mounted on both sides of windshield

The history of Harman (Honlgberg) is closely linked to the Teutonic Knight Order and the Cistercian Order. During their stay in Transylvania (1211-1225), the Teutonic Knights Order built castles, brought German settlers (later called "Transylvanian Saxons") into the country and founded several settlements. Presumably, Harman was founded at this time. Harman was first mentioned in a document in 1240 in a deed of donation from the Hungarian king. in which the patronage of the churches of Feldioara, Sanpetru, Harman and Prejmer was awarded to the Cistercians Order.

The Romanesque three-aisled basilica, which already existed in 1240, was expanded under the influence of Cistercian architecture and equipped with a massive bell tower around the year 1300.

Due to the constant threat of predatory Mongol hordes and attacks by the Ottoman Empire, the citizens of Harman began in the 15th century to build a fortification with the church as the centre. This resulted in one of the largest fortified churches in Transylvania by the middle of the 17th century.

The weir system of Harman consists of a church which is surrounded by mighty defensive walls. The most important components of the fortified church are the huge circular walls, the seven defence towers the gate weirs and the moat. Special features are the pantries, which can be found not only on the inside of the main circular well, but also above the southern nave of the church. In times of siege, these pantries were also used for residential purposes.

The east tower of the fortified church is unique. It was created by integrating a chapel built in the early 14th century into the main wall ring. The well-preserved frescoes from the Catholic era of the Church illustrate three major themes: the Last Judgment. the Crucifixion, and the Glorification of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In the middle of the 16th century, the Lutheran Reformation spread to the Saxon communities in Transylvania. so that the Saxon community in Harman has been part of the Evangelical Church A. C. in Transylvania ever since.

Main attractions: Church with baroque altar, oriental carpet collection and bell tower, chapel with frescoes from the 15th century, main circular well with guard‘s walkway and defence towers, ethnographic museum in the former pantries.

Anche se sono sempre contro l'inserimento della componente umana all'interno di un contesto paesaggistico, questa volta ho volutamente fatto un'eccezione cogliendo l'abbraccio tra queste due persone contornato dagli ultimi colori del tramonto.

Seeing things that are where? —there, here— They’re here. Arranged and ready to be arranged.

The fifth component of positive freedom in Timothy Snyder's new book "On Freedom" is Solidarity. We cannot claim freedom for ourselves and deny it to others. Freedom only makes sense when we recognize in others the things we see in ourselves. America's motto is E Pluribus Unum; Out of Many, One. What is that but an expression of solidarity? Those who dehumanize others are not interested in your freedom. Unions place solidarity at the top of their principles. We cannot be free unless we are all free.

My fifth entry for Polaroid Week represents Solidarity by photographing all my previous entries, plus a couple others, using the same Retinex film to give the impression of a single body made up all other bodies. I used the hexaprism filter from my Spectra Special Effects filter pack with my Mint SLR-670X Ming Edition I-Type camera.

This ends my Polaroid Week series. I hope this has piqued your interest in Snyder's book and made you think about freedom in perhaps a different way than you have before. Snyder's book is available at timothysnyder.org/on-freedom . If you're American, election day is in a few days. Vote. Vote for freedom. Vote for freedom for all of us.

The Alaska Territorial Guard (ATG), more commonly the Eskimo Scouts, was a military reserve force component of the US Army, organized in 1942 in response to attacks on United States soil in Hawaii and occupation of parts of Alaska by Japan during World War II. The ATG operated until 1947. 6,368 volunteers who served without pay were enrolled from 107 communities throughout Alaska in addition to a paid staff of 21, according to an official roster.[1] The ATG brought together for the first time into a joint effort members of these ethnic groups: Aleut, Athabaskan, White, Inupiaq, Haida, Tlingit, Tsimshian, Yupik, and most likely others. In later years, all members of some native units scored expert sharpshooter rankings.[2] Among the 27 or more women members were at least one whose riflery skills exceeded the men.[3] The ages of members at enrollment ranged from 80 years old[4] to as young as twelve[5] (both extremes occurring mostly in sparsely populated areas). As volunteers the Alaska Territorial Guard members were those that were too young or too old to be drafted during WWII. (Copy Courtesy of Wikipedia)

Major components of the very first A300 (and hence the first Airbus aircraft built) are preserved in the Deutsches Museum, Munich. F-OCAZ first flew on 28 October 1972 (as F-WUAB) and was retired in late 1974. It was then dismantled at Toulouse.

I am back from my vacation , if you can call it that

It was hampered by cold , wet weather and the fact that I got a nasty cold

I did not swim, did not go far and did not visit a wonderful flickr contact that I so did want to see

In this case I prefer to see this (in the best optimistic fashion) as the glass half full

well at least that is what I am trying to do

Paul Component Engineering Klamper Brakes.

Long Play? Long pull ...

Installed the Paul Klampers on the Trek. I have been saving up for these brake calipers, and the wait has been worth it. These calipers have been manufactured to tight tolerances, so they maintain any adjustments made to them. These photo don't convey how bulky these calipers are; they are quite a bit larger than the old calipers. These feel bombproof, so I look forward to these brakes lasting longer than everything else on the bike. Never knew there were artisanal brakes ...
