The Hobby-Eberly Telescope featuring the world's premier spectrograph, the Visible Integral-Field Replicable Unit Spectrographs (VIRUS), a key component in the National Science Foundation-funded Hobby Eberly Telescope Dark Energy Experiment (HETDEX) to understand dark energy. The $16 million VIRUS instrument was assembled and aligned within the Munnerlyn Lab, where no fewer than 150 individual VIRUS units -- each an identical copy of a single spectrograph -- were produced, assembled and tested before being transported to McDonald Observatory for mounting inside two climate-controlled enclosures on the sides of the telescope.

El Gobierno Nacional, a través de Prosperidad Social, ha llegado a todo el país con 2.500 obras de infraestructura social, uno de los componentes clave para superar pobreza y mejorar las condiciones de movilidad, educación, salud, y vivienda de la población vulnerable. Al final de este Gobierno, serán más de 3 mil los proyectos ejecutados en todo el país que representan una inversión de 3,5 billones de pesos, según lo anunció el Presidente Santos en el acto de entrega de la obra de Anapoima.
La obra 2.500 fue entregada este sábado en el municipio de Anapoima, por el presidente Juan Manuel Santos y el director general de Prosperidad Social, Nemesio Roys Garzón: un moderno Centro de Escuelas de Formación Cultural y Deportiva, espacio lúdico y de encuentro en el que se integran diversas disciplinas que beneficiarán a más de 10 mil personas del municipio.
"La infraestructura social como componente para superar pobreza y contribuir al mejoramiento de las condiciones de vida de las comunidades vulnerables, se ha convertido en una de las acciones más importantes y recordadas por los colombianos que dan testimonio de la mejora en sus condiciones de vida. Hemos ejecutado 763 obras de infraestructura deportiva; 289 proyectos de infraestructura comunitaria como centros de adulto mayor y centros comunitarios, hemos pavimentado más de 900 kilómetros de vías urbanas rurales y 69 obras para llevar agua potable y saneamiento básico a más de 20 mil personas", explicó el Director de Prosperidad Social durante la entrega de la obra.
Se suman a estas acciones, inversiones en educación por $85.000 millones en 158 obras de construcción, mejoramiento y adecuación de instituciones educativas que han beneficiado a más de 70 mil estudiantes, complementadas con la ejecución de 16 Centros de Desarrollo Infantil con una inversión superior a los $11.000 millones.
Así mismo, se ha trabajado en el mejoramiento de las condiciones de habitabilidad de más de 76 mil hogares vulnerables, 65% de ellos ubicados en el sector rural, que ahora tienen un espacio digno para vivir.
La obra 2.500: Centro de Escuelas de Formación Cultural y Deportiva
Más de 10 mil anapoimunos disfrutarán de un escenario sin precedentes en el municipio, en un proyecto de alto impacto para toda la comunidad que materializa un compromiso realizado por el presidente Santos en un Acuerdo para la Prosperidad.
Con una inversión superior a los $6.000 millones, se ejecutó esta obra en la que se generaron 130 empleos, mano de obra de la comunidad. Ludoteca, teatro, salón de danza, auditorio, gimnasio, cafetería y piscina para clases de natación, hacen parte de este gran Centro de tres pisos que será escenario de importantes eventos comunitarios. / Oct. 14, 2017. I desoldered the large components from the PCB to clean it. These components are identical to those in a 746. In fact the circuit is the same too apart from that little green jumper wire. If the 2 solder pins T21 and T22 are linked, then the circuit is that of the 746. With the jumper from T21 to T7, the second section of the gravity switch is simply use to open the bell circuit when off-hook, as is required for the Special Range wiring. The 1.8uF capacitor is solely used in the speech circuit, it is not a ringing capacitor for this wiring scheme, and thus doesn't need to be connected via the gravity switch.
The outermost "doll" is a large capacitor. I cut a masking-tape mask to create the traditional chevron design (which points to the -ve leg). Some real components for scale.

The West Jefferson Avenue – Rouge River Bridge is a bridge located where Jefferson Avenue crosses the Rouge River at the border of Detroit and River Rouge, Michigan (1922). It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000. Bridgetender houses are original. Portions of old cable car fixtures remain, today used as lampposts.

Soldiers, Sailors and Marines from across Active Duty and Reserve Components on Fort Benning and in the surrounding community converged December 4-7 to compete for the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge. One of a handful of authorized foreign awards, the badge is highly coveted for wear on the US military dress uniform. Qualifying for the badge requires proficiency in physical training, swimming, marksmanship and completion of a 12 mile ruck march. Soldiers and Drill Sergeants from the 98th Training Division (IET) not only competed for the GAFPB, but also lent their administrative, operational and instructional skills to the execution and planning of the event in coordination with the 1-46th Infantry Regiment. Congratulations to those who made the competition a success, and to those who have now earned the right to wear the badge!

Spool is made from (qty 2) 6 inch dia. 1/2 inch plywood outers and (qty 4) 2 inch dia. 3/4 inch plywood inners.
Three images used to create the previous HDR composite. Though exposure was bracketted there's only one stop between them, and overall they're underexposed - I could have done a better job of centering the exposure - being underexposed resulted in the final image being quite noisy. The blue colour cast is the result of a cheap neutral density filter. I can never get the horizon straight.
Los componentes utilizados son en su mayoria de montaje superficial, en la foto pueden apreciarse las resistencias las cuales tienen 3,2 x 1,6 mm. En el caso del circuito integrado que se ve a la derecha los terminales de conexion tienen 0,4 mm de ancho y estan espaciados 0,8 mm.
VERNAZZA transportó una serie de componentes para una planta industrial a montarse en la mina Lama, ubicada en la provincia de san Juan.
Estos bultos de enorme magnitud fueron transportados combinando camiones tractores de gran poder de tracción junto a nuestras líneas modulares hidráulicas de 8 neumáticos cada una.
Más precisamente, cada convoy contó con una plataforma hidráulica de 6 líneas en total, es decir, con una suma de 48 neumáticos por cada remolque configurado.
