They walked in the park every second afternoon. Holding hands, mother and child. The regulars there knew them well.
With her porcelain-pale skin and dark brown eyes and brows, Lily had always been rather proud of her striking complexion. Her 'contrasty' look, she called it. Attractive rather than beautiful, her light skin swam amidst her shoulder length dark hair, framing her deep umber irises which almost merged with the black of her pupils. It gave her a mysterious, unfathomable appearance. A look that still turned heads, even though she was now no longer a young woman.
Her daughter had inherited Lily's fair face. Even at five, she could see the resemblance with complete clarity as the child tugged at her arm, in the direction of the swings. The girl's fine hair was a deep chestnut brown against white and flawless skin. The only difference was the curls. Lily would wrinkle her nose every time she though about it; daddy’s genes. And god alone knew where HE was now. For the thousandth time Lily told herself (with a little too much venom at times, she thought) that she didn't give a rat's ass where the fuck he was. She put it out of her mind.
The late afternoon sun threw thin horizontal rays amongst breeze-flicked leaves, shimmering through the oaks. Their crazy, rich ochre of autumn fluttering down to the shifting découpage carpet below, where squirrels would fossick amongst the litter. Smells of freshly cut grass mingled with the heady, somewhat stale odour of an out of season flush of tiny daisies which covered half the rolling field. Lily wondered idly why only half the field had been mowed.
People watched them as they strolled past. Adults walking dogs, playing with children. Two teenaged girls were throwing a frisbee, back and forth. Leaping like lissom tumblers and whooping as they caught the disk behind their backs, or between their lithe legs. Young, carefree.
An old lady walked her dog. One of those tiny, shaggy things you couldn’t tell which end was the front. Lily always thought it looked like a mobile mustache on a leash.
A young, disheveled father was pushing a pram which contained a gurgling baby. The pram had a squeaky wheel.
Some young boys were kicking a plastic soccer ball at the edge of the park. Near the road. Too near. Lily looked away, shivering involuntarily, an icy claw gripping her insides. She put that out of her mind too, hurrying on and throwing a crooked smile at the frisbee-throwing girls. They pretended not to see her, in the infuriating manner rebellious girls reserved for middle-aged women.
A young couple was kissing under a tree, and giggling in the way that naїve new lovers do. Noses touching, they stopped as Lily walked past, and regarded her somewhat solemnly (Lily thought). Familiar faces.
A group of young children were playing on the roundabout; squeals of pleasure. Lily stopped and watched them, as she always did. She usually waited a while before moving on, but not once did they ever ask her daughter if she wanted to come and play.
The man pushing the squeaky pram with the gurgling baby raised his eyes suddenly as they passed. Lily saw a sticker on the pram that claimed: "Schumacher RULES". The man appeared to be startled, caught unawares. Lily smiled at him (wistfully, she always thought he looked rather handsome) but he just glanced at her in a flustered way, eyes a little wild. He pretended he had been going in a different direction, and accelerated the pram like Schumi off the grid at Hockenheim. Even the baby stopped babbling in its surprise. Lily watched them retreat, the pram cornering a tree in a manner quite dissimilar to a Ferrari.
Lily strolled along the perimeter of the park, her child in tow. Passing the old lady she said, "Good evening, isn't it lovely out?"
The old lady had been stooped over, scooping dog poo into a little plastic bag. She straightened with an alacrity that belied her aged frame. She froze for an instant, eyes darting to the left and right before her face softened, and she said in measured but kindly tones, "Hello dear, yes it is good to be out".
She added, "Lovely to see you... both… as pretty as a picture".
Lily walked on, head up, smiling.
The sun drifted to the horizon, as a flat yellow pebble settles to the bottom of a still, dark pool. Lily took her daughter by the hand and headed home. She pertinaciously followed the same route she had for the past eighteen months. A routine that did not fluctuate.
By the old wrought-iron gate she would pause. Every time. It hung ajar with flaking paint; weeds entwined at its rusty base, portal to a dirty gravel path. Eventually, she'd release the little girl's hand, and watch her child walk slowly amongst the moss-covered, crenate headstones of the cemetery. Lily would turn then and cross the street, alone. Never once would she glance at the tiny, withered road-wreath that she had put beside that busy way, eighteen months ago.
Beloved Aurora is fully deboxed, and is posed free standing. Once the right balance is achieved, she is fairly stable. Her simple and symmetrical dress made it much more easy to balance on her shoes than the Coronation Aurora doll, who had a heavy train on her dress. Photographed in daylight.
Review of Beloved Aurora Doll
Both Beloved and Royal Coronation Aurora dolls have identical faces. Her face is pretty, but bland and generic. She only has a passing resemblance to the movie character, as portrayed by Elle Fanning. She doesn't have very realistic features, but looks like an ordinary doll painted to look like an animated character. She has a light complexion, small blue green eyes gazing straight ahead, brown eyebrows, small straight nose, light pink lips on a small mouth, large chin, and light rouge on her cheeks.
Her hair out of the box is much neater than Coronation Aurora's hair. Like the other doll, she has a long side curl down the left side of her head. It is bit stiff from hair product, and is a much tighter curl than the one on Coronation Aurora. There is also some hair product in the side bangs right over her forehead. The rest of her hair is loose and gently wavy down the her back to her hips, and is soft and smooth. Her hair is thinly rooted hair over most of her head, so a bald spot is visible right behind her side bangs. Also bald spots are easily visible if her hair is moved around on the top of her head. It would help if she had some hair ornaments or headdress to help hide the bald spots.
Her outfit is very simple. It is a full length one piece dress, made of light blue satin, with gold glitter decoration, white organza trim at the collar, flared full length sleeves, and a plastic belt around her waist with a hanging piece down the front of her dress. The satin is shiny and very smooth, and the glitter does not shed at all. In addition to the gold glitter, there is also printed flowers in the hem of the dress. She is wearing the same style high heeled shoes as Coronation Aurora, but these are light blue in color instead of tan.
Packaging and Deboxing
Deboxing the Beloved Aurora Doll by Tollytots/Jakks Pacific was more difficult than for the Coronation Aurora doll. In order to remove the front plastic cover from the box, it was necessary to almost tear the back of the box apart, as the two layers of the backing were taped and glued shut. The tabs of the plastic cover were also taped and glued to the inside of the backing. The box would need a lot of tape to put it back together securely, if it were to be reused for storing or displaying the doll in the box. And the tearing apart of the backing of course creased and weakened the cardboard.
Aurora is standing on a small cardboard spacer. Behind her is a printed background from the movie, which is common to all the dolls in this series. Unfortunately, the bottom of the backing was not square to the back side, so the doll would fall face forward if I tried to stand her up in the backing.
Removing her from the backing was very easy, especially compared to most Disney Store dolls. There was only plastic T-tab fasteners securing her to the backing and the plastic spacer. It was possible to reach all the fasteners and snip them off, without having to remove the large plastic spacer, including the one through the back of her head. The remaining post sticking out of her head was snipped off as close to her scalp as possible, without cutting her hair. Unlike Coronation Aurora, there was no tissue paper around her legs.
Purchase Details
I just received the four available Jakks Pacific dolls from the Maleficent movie in single doll packages. I ordered them from Toys R Us on Friday night and got them Tuesday, with free shipping. I appreciated the quick shipping, compared to the Disney Store. The dolls are the following, with links to the TRU site. All the dolls are 12'' H. The Coronation dolls are $39.95 each, the other two are $19.95. They are also available in some ToysRUs stores. The cheaper dolls are also available online, for the same price, from Amazon.
Snow White and her Prince have now been fully deboxed. They are posed standing, supported by the built-in doll stands in the base of the display case.
This regular version of the Snow White and the Prince Disney Fairytale Designer Collection Doll Set has the same two base dolls as the D23 special edition dolls that I reviewed earlier. That is the dolls themselves are identical in every way (except for the serial numbers on the back of the Prince dolls). They also have outfits of almost identical designs, but made of different materials and with differing colors. So the dolls have different looks, especially the Snow Whites.
Snow White has the body of a 2012 Disney Store Classic Princess doll. That is, she has hard plastic legs, with hinged knee joints and ball jointed ankles. She is missing the usual manufacturer's marks printed on Disney limited edition dolls, including the part number and her edition size and serial number. She is also missing the twist waist joint of the previous Designer Princess and Designer Villain dolls. She has a pale complexion, the same as the 2012 Snow White, with whom she shares the same body. However, her neck joint has more freedom of movement, especially downward, and her painted on panties are deep golden yellow, much darker than the 2012 Snow White.
Her face mold appears to be the same as the 2012 and 2013 Classic Snow White, but with a considerably different face paint than either of them. She has large dark brown eyes that are glancing to her left, with four short thick lashes over each eye and four very short and thin lashes under each eye. Over her eyes is gold eyeshadow, and thin black eyebrows gently following the curve of her eyes. She also had short rooted eyelashes that are just barely curving upwards, and are even in length. She has a small button nose, a small mouth with blood red lips forming a charming open mouth smile. She has light pink rouge over most of her cheeks, and a round face with small chin. She is a very beautiful and faithful representation of the sweet and charming movie character.
Her hair is a considerable departure from the traditional short flip hairdo. Her jet black hair is parted to the left of her head, and pulled tightly over her head into a medium length braided ponytail that tapers down to a point and is secured by black rubberband, and is sewn to her collar on her right side. There is a small amount of hair product applied just above her forehead, to a thin strip of her hair. In my doll, that strip keeps on separating from the rest of her hair. I haven't been able to integrate it with the rest of her hair; perhaps I will have to apply more hair product to keep it place. There is a thin bright red satin ribbon around the top of her head that ends in a small bow at left side of her head.
Her outfit is a take on her traditional Princess gown. Her bodice and skirt are separate pieces. The bodice is dark blue velvet with gold piping and elaborate gold embroidery, and decorated with a bow made of metallic gold thread. The floral design is similar to the D23 doll, but differs in its details. She has puffy sleeves of the same dark blue velvet, with separate ribbons of bright red satin that float over the velvet. The sleeves have black lace cuffs decorated with gold hearts, and the oversized collar is pure white lace folded in a fan-like manner behind her neck and head. Her skirt is dark golden taffeta with gold embroidering incorporating fleur-de-lis, flowers and hearts. The embroidery in the skirt is identical to that of the D23 doll. The taffeta gives the skirt has a wrinkled, antique appearance. It has a thin pale tan satin lining. There are golden rhinestones scattered throughout the bodice and skirt of her dress. Under her dress is a floor length white satin slip with the lacey pattern at the hem showing below her skirt. It is sewn to her skirt at two spots at the hem, which I chose to leave alone for now. It is also sewn to the waist band of the skirt, so it is a permanent part of the skirt. She is wearing golden tan flat shoes (or slippers), the same as the D23 doll. It is a beautifully designed and beautifully made outfit that is a darker and more ornated version of the Princess outfit of the movie character.
The Prince appears to have the standard Disney Store Prince body, with articulation at the neck, shoulders, hinge jointed elbows, ball jointed hips, and internal knee joints with limited movement. His hands and feet are large, but his head is disproportionately small compared to Snow White. His face has a neutral expression, with small, narrow deep blue eyes, wide mouth and a straight nose. His molded dark brown hair looks okay. His face doesn't look that movie accurate to me; I actually prefer the playline Classic Prince. As with all Disney Prince dolls, he is sturdily built, and can free stand fairly stably. But for safe keeping, it is best to put him up in the included doll stand, which has a wide C-clamp that goes around his waist very snuggly.
The Prince's outfit is very well made and fitted to his body. It consists of a dark blue faux leather vest, a bright red velvet and satin cape with gold piping permanently attached at the shoulders of the vest, a dark blue faux leather belt with a gold metal buckle and a short black faux leather scabbard attached, white satin shirt, black pants and black boots with a worn look and creases. In the scabbard is a steel gray sword with a brown handle. The sword is thin and very flexible. It was slightly bent out of the box, but was easily bent back into shape. The D23 Prince's vest is much thicker, and feels much more like real leather than this Prince doll. But this Prince has an outfit that is much closer in color to the movie character. He looks great in his outfit, and very dashing, but I wish his expression had more emotion, and was more cheerful.

Necatar of Instruction - Text 6 by His Divine Grace A C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada
Being situated in his original Kṛṣṇa conscious position, a pure devotee does not identify with the body. Such a devotee should not be seen from a materialistic point of view. Indeed, one should overlook a devotee's having a body born in a low family, a body with a bad complexion, a deformed body, or a diseased or infirm body. According to ordinary vision, such imperfections may seem prominent in the body of a pure devotee, but despite such seeming defects, the body of a pure devotee cannot be polluted. It is exactly like the waters of the Ganges, which sometimes during the rainy season are full of bubbles, foam and mud. The Ganges waters do not become polluted. Those who are advanced in spiritual understanding will bathe in the Ganges without considering the condition of the water.
PURPORT
Śuddha-bhakti, the activity of the soul proper — in other words, engagement in the transcendental loving service of the Lord — is performed in a liberated condition. In Bhagavad-gītā (14.26) it is stated:
māḿ ca yo 'vyabhicāreṇa
bhakti-yogena sevate
sa guṇān samatītyaitān
brahma-bhūyāya kalpate
"One who engages in full devotional service, who does not fall down in any circumstance, at once transcends the modes of material nature and thus comes to the level of Brahman."
Avyabhicāriṇī bhakti means unalloyed devotion. A person engaged in devotional service must be free from material motives. In this Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement, one's consciousness must be changed. If consciousness is aimed toward material enjoyment, it is material consciousness, and if it is aimed toward serving Kṛṣṇa, it is Kṛṣṇa consciousness. A surrendered soul serves Kṛṣṇa without material considerations (anyābhilāṣitā-śūnyam [Bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhu 1.1.11]). Jñāna-karmādy-anāvṛtam: unalloyed devotional service, which is transcendental to the activities of the body and mind, such as jñāna (mental speculation) and karma (fruitive work), is called pure bhakti-yoga. Bhakti-yoga is the proper activity of the soul, and when one actually engages in unalloyed, uncontaminated devotional service, he is already liberated (sa guṇān samatītyaitān [Bg. 14.26]). Kṛṣṇa's devotee is not subjected to material condition, even though his bodily features may appear materially conditioned. One should therefore not see a pure devotee from a materialistic point of view. Unless one is actually a devotee, he cannot see another devotee perfectly. As explained in the previous verse, there are three types of devotees — kaniṣṭha-adhikārī, madhyama-adhikārī and uttama-adhikārī. The kaniṣṭha-adhikārī cannot distinguish between a devotee and nondevotee. He is simply concerned with worshiping the Deity in the temple. A madhyama-adhikārī, however, can distinguish between the devotee and nondevotee, as well as between the devotee and the Lord. Thus he treats the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the devotee and the nondevotee in different ways.
No one should criticize the bodily defects of a pure devotee. If there are such defects, they should be overlooked. What should be taken into account is the spiritual master's main business, which is devotional service, pure service to the Supreme Lord. As stated in Bhagavad-gītā (9.30):
api cet sudurācāro
bhajate mām ananya-bhāk
sādhur eva sa mantavyaḥ
samyag vyavasito hi saḥ
Even if a devotee sometimes seems to engage in abominable activities, he should be considered a sādhu, a saintly person, because his actual identity is that of one engaged in the loving service of the Lord. In other words, he is not to be considered an ordinary human being.
Even though a pure devotee may not be born in a brāhmaṇa or gosvāmī family, if he is engaged in the service of the Lord he should not be neglected. In actuality there cannot be a family of gosvāmīs based on material considerations, caste or heredity. The gosvāmī title is actually the monopoly of the pure devotees; thus we speak of the six Gosvāmīs, headed by Rūpa Gosvāmī and Sanātana Gosvāmī. Rūpa Gosvāmī and Sanātana Gosvāmī had practically become Mohammedans and had therefore changed their names to Dabira Khāsa and Sākara Mallika, but Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu Himself made them gosvāmīs. Therefore the gosvāmī title is not hereditary. The word gosvāmī refers to one who can control his senses, who is master of the senses. A devotee is not controlled by the senses, but is the controller of the senses. Consequently he should be called svāmī or gosvāmī, even though he may not be born in a gosvāmī family.
According to this formula, the gosvāmīs who are descendants of Śrī Nityānanda Prabhu and Śrī Advaita Prabhu are certainly devotees, but devotees coming from other families should not be discriminated against; indeed, whether the devotees come from a family of previous ācāryas or from an ordinary family, they should be treated equally. One should not think, "Oh, here is an American gosvāmī," and discriminate against him. Nor should one think, "Here is a nityānanda-vaḿśa-gosvāmī." There is an undercurrent of protest against our awarding the title gosvāmī to the American Vaiṣṇavas of the Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement. Sometimes people flatly tell the American devotees that their sannyāsa or title of gosvāmī is not bona fide. However, according to the statements of Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī in this verse, an American gosvāmī and a gosvāmī in a family of ācāryas are nondifferent.
On the other hand, a devotee who has attained the title of gosvāmī but is not born of a brāhmaṇa father or of a gosvāmī in the family of Nityānanda or Advaita Prabhu should not be artificially puffed up by thinking that he has become a gosvāmī. He should always remember that as soon as he becomes materially puffed up, he immediately falls down. This Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement is a transcendental science, and there is no room for jealousy. This movement is meant for the paramahaḿsas who are completely free from all jealousy (paramaḿ nirmatsarāṇām). One should not be jealous, whether he is born in a family of gosvāmīs or has the title of gosvāmī awarded to him. As soon as anyone becomes envious, he falls from the platform of paramahaḿsa.
If we consider the bodily defects of a Vaiṣṇava, we should understand that we are committing an offense at the lotus feet of the Vaiṣṇava. An offense at the lotus feet of a Vaiṣṇava is very serious. Indeed, Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu has described this offense as hātī-mātā, the mad elephant offense. A mad elephant can create a disaster, especially when it enters into a nicely trimmed garden. One should therefore be very careful not to commit any offense against a Vaiṣṇava. Every devotee should be ready to take instructions from a superior Vaiṣṇava, and a superior Vaiṣṇava must be ready to help an inferior Vaiṣṇava in all respects. One is superior or inferior according to his spiritual development in Kṛṣṇa consciousness. One is forbidden to observe the activities of a pure Vaiṣṇava from a material point of view. For the neophyte especially, considering a pure devotee from a material point of view is very injurious. One should therefore avoid observing a pure devotee externally, but should try to see the internal features and understand how he is engaged in the transcendental loving service of the Lord. In this way one can avoid seeing the pure devotee from a material point of view, and thus one can gradually become a purified devotee himself.
Those who think that Kṛṣṇa consciousness is limited to a certain section of people, a certain section of devotees or a certain tract of land are generally prone to see the external features of the devotee. Such neophytes, unable to appreciate the exalted service of the advanced devotee, try to bring the mahā-bhāgavata to their platform. We experience such difficulty in propagating this Kṛṣṇa consciousness all over the world. Unfortunately we are surrounded by neophyte Godbrothers who do not appreciate the extraordinary activities of spreading Kṛṣṇa consciousness all over the world. They simply try to bring us to their platform, and they try to criticize us in every respect. We very much regret their naive activities and poor fund of knowledge. An empowered person who is actually engaged in the confidential service of the Lord should not be treated as an ordinary human being, for it is stated that unless one is empowered by Kṛṣṇa, one cannot spread the Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement all over the world.
When one thus criticizes a pure devotee, he commits an offense (vaiṣṇava-aparādha) that is very obstructive and dangerous for those who desire to advance in Kṛṣṇa consciousness. A person cannot derive any spiritual benefit when he offends the lotus feet of a Vaiṣṇava. Everyone should therefore be very careful not to be jealous of an empowered Vaiṣṇava, or a śuddha-vaiṣṇava. It is also an offense to consider an empowered Vaiṣṇava an object of disciplinary action. It is offensive to try to give him advice or to correct him. One can distinguish between a neophyte Vaiṣṇava and an advanced Vaiṣṇava by their activities. The advanced Vaiṣṇava is always situated as the spiritual master, and the neophyte is always considered his disciple. The spiritual master must not be subjected to the advice of a disciple, nor should a spiritual master be obliged to take instructions from those who are not his disciples. This is the sum and substance of Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī's advice in the sixth verse.

At the junction of High Street and Clay Street, Soham, Cambridgeshire there is also a Memorial within the church. The main Memorial takes the form of a Serviceman, in mourning pose, with rifle reversed surmounting a large, stepped stone plinth. The names are in columns on each side of plinth. The whole stands on a two-stepped base. There are 134 names for World War I (128 names originally but prior to the centenary six further names were added) and 42 for World War II, the names of two women who died in World War II are placed first. Los dos señores Gaura Nitai y, también conocido como Gauranga o Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu y Nityananda. Gauranga significa 'Uno con la complexión corporal de oro' y Nityananda significa "El que encarna la felicidad eterna".
En una aparición especial, Krishna vino personalmente en el año 1486 como Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu y actuó como su propio devoto. This regular version of the Snow White and the Prince Disney Fairytale Designer Collection Doll Set has the same two base dolls as the D23 special edition dolls that I reviewed earlier. That is the dolls themselves are identical in every way (except for the serial numbers on the back of the Prince dolls). They also have outfits of almost identical designs, but made of different materials and with differing colors. So the dolls have different looks, especially the Snow Whites.
Snow White has the body of a 2012 Disney Store Classic Princess doll. That is, she has hard plastic legs, with hinged knee joints and ball jointed ankles. She is missing the usual manufacturer's marks printed on Disney limited edition dolls, including the part number and her edition size and serial number. She is also missing the twist waist joint of the previous Designer Princess and Designer Villain dolls. She has a pale complexion, the same as the 2012 Snow White, with whom she shares the same body. However, her neck joint has more freedom of movement, especially downward, and her painted on panties are deep golden yellow, much darker than the 2012 Snow White.
Her face mold appears to be the same as the 2012 and 2013 Classic Snow White, but with a considerably different face paint than either of them. She has large dark brown eyes that are glancing to her left, with four short thick lashes over each eye and four very short and thin lashes under each eye. Over her eyes is gold eyeshadow, and thin black eyebrows gently following the curve of her eyes. She also had short rooted eyelashes that are just barely curving upwards, and are even in length. She has a small button nose, a small mouth with blood red lips forming a charming open mouth smile. She has light pink rouge over most of her cheeks, and a round face with small chin. She is a very beautiful and faithful representation of the sweet and charming movie character.
Her hair is a considerable departure from the traditional short flip hairdo. Her jet black hair is parted to the left of her head, and pulled tightly over her head into a medium length braided ponytail that tapers down to a point and is secured by black rubberband, and is sewn to her collar on her right side. There is a small amount of hair product applied just above her forehead, to a thin strip of her hair. In my doll, that strip keeps on separating from the rest of her hair. I haven't been able to integrate it with the rest of her hair; perhaps I will have to apply more hair product to keep it place. There is a thin bright red satin ribbon around the top of her head that ends in a small bow at left side of her head.
Her outfit is a take on her traditional Princess gown. Her bodice and skirt are separate pieces. The bodice is dark blue velvet with gold piping and elaborate gold embroidery, and decorated with a bow made of metallic gold thread. The floral design is similar to the D23 doll, but differs in its details. She has puffy sleeves of the same dark blue velvet, with separate ribbons of bright red satin that float over the velvet. The sleeves have black lace cuffs decorated with gold hearts, and the oversized collar is pure white lace folded in a fan-like manner behind her neck and head. Her skirt is dark golden taffeta with gold embroidering incorporating fleur-de-lis, flowers and hearts. The embroidery in the skirt is identical to that of the D23 doll. The taffeta gives the skirt has a wrinkled, antique appearance. It has a thin pale tan satin lining. There are golden rhinestones scattered throughout the bodice and skirt of her dress. Under her dress is a floor length white satin slip with the lacey pattern at the hem showing below her skirt. It is sewn to her skirt at two spots at the hem, which I chose to leave alone for now. It is also sewn to the waist band of the skirt, so it is a permanent part of the skirt. She is wearing golden tan flat shoes (or slippers), the same as the D23 doll. It is a beautifully designed and beautifully made outfit that is a darker and more ornated version of the Princess outfit of the movie character.
The Prince appears to have the standard Disney Store Prince body, with articulation at the neck, shoulders, hinge jointed elbows, ball jointed hips, and internal knee joints with limited movement. His hands and feet are large, but his head is disproportionately small compared to Snow White. His face has a neutral expression, with small, narrow deep blue eyes, wide mouth and a straight nose. His molded dark brown hair looks okay. His face doesn't look that movie accurate to me; I actually prefer the playline Classic Prince. As with all Disney Prince dolls, he is sturdily built, and can free stand fairly stably. But for safe keeping, it is best to put him up in the included doll stand, which has a wide C-clamp that goes around his waist very snuggly.
The Prince's outfit is very well made and fitted to his body. It consists of a dark blue faux leather vest, a bright red velvet and satin cape with gold piping permanently attached at the shoulders of the vest, a dark blue faux leather belt with a gold metal buckle and a short black faux leather scabbard attached, white satin shirt, black pants and black boots with a worn look and creases. In the scabbard is a steel gray sword with a brown handle. The sword is thin and very flexible. It was slightly bent out of the box, but was easily bent back into shape. The D23 Prince's vest is much thicker, and feels much more like real leather than this Prince doll. But this Prince has an outfit that is much closer in color to the movie character. He looks great in his outfit, and very dashing, but I wish his expression had more emotion, and was more cheerful.

Snow White and her Prince have now been fully deboxed. They are posed standing, supported by the built-in doll stands in the base of the display case.
This regular version of the Snow White and the Prince Disney Fairytale Designer Collection Doll Set has the same two base dolls as the D23 special edition dolls that I reviewed earlier. That is the dolls themselves are identical in every way (except for the serial numbers on the back of the Prince dolls). They also have outfits of almost identical designs, but made of different materials and with differing colors. So the dolls have different looks, especially the Snow Whites.

Under her dress is a floor length white satin slip with the lacey pattern at the hem showing below her skirt. It is sewn to her skirt at two spots at the hem, which I chose to leave alone for now. It is also sewn to the waist band of the skirt, so it is a permanent part of the skirt. She is wearing golden tan flat shoes (or slippers), the same as the D23 doll. It is a beautifully designed and beautifully made outfit that is a darker and more ornated version of the Princess outfit of the movie character.

About Ajanta Caves
The Ajanta Caves in Aurangabad district of Maharashtra, India are 30 rock-cut cave monuments which date from the 2nd century BCE to the 600 CE. The caves include paintings and sculptures considered to be masterpieces of Buddhist religious art (which depict the Jataka tales) as well as frescos which are reminiscent of the Sigiriya paintings in Sri Lanka. Born on 12th. September 1895 at Southwold, Suffolk, the son of James William and Ruth Mary Briggs of The Five Bells Inn, South Cove.
James served 2 years with the Territorials in England before enlisting at Valcaitier, Canada on 23rd. September 1914, when the Army recorded that he was single, 5 ft. 9 in. tall with a fair complexion, blue eyes and red hair. His occupation was given as a labourer.
On 11th. May 1915 James was made a Lance Corporal.
James was killed in action, aged 21, on Tuesday 4th. April 1916. He is buried in Grave: II. G. 10. at Woods Cemetery, 4 km south-east of Leper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium with the personnel inscription,

Born on 20th. March 1918, the fourth child and eldest son of Joseph Edward and Alice Emma Baldry, nee Dawson, of West End Farm Cottage, Wrentham, Suffolk.
Occupation, farm labourer.
Gordon became a prisoner of war of the Japanese when he was captured at Singapore on 15th. February 1942.
Put to work on the Thailand-Burma Railway, Gordon died, aged 25, on Sunday 12th. December 1943 from diarrhoea and ulcers. He was originally interred in Grave: 48 at Kanburi Hospital Cemetery No.3. On Friday 11th. January 1946 he was reinterred in Plot 2 Row C Grave 48 at Kanchanaburi War Cemetery, Kanchanaburi, Thailand with the personal inscription,

Born on 9th.January 1922, in Oklahoma County, Oklahoma, the son of Alva Lee and Olive Z Williams, nee McCollum.
Farris died, aged 23. He is buried in Plot G, Row 4, Grave 1 at the Cambridge American Cemetery, Madingley, Cambridgeshire.

On 31st. March 1945, B-24J Liberator, serial number 42-51241, coded YM-T, of the 409th. Bomb Squadron, 93rd. Bomb Group took off from USAAF Station 104 at Hardwick, Norfolk loaded with 24 x 250 lb. bombs to attack the railway marshalling yards at Brunswick in Germany.
As the formation was assembling, the B-24 hit the propeller turbulence from another bomber, possibly 42-50907, and was thrown over onto its back. Laden with fuel and bombs the Liberator went into an uncontrollable spin. The tragedy was caught by the camera of S/Sgt. Edward T Sozesny, waist gunner aboard another 93rd. BG bomber. Either jettisoned by the crew or more likely flung from the disintegrating B-24 as it broke up just before the crash, the 24 bombs all fell in fields adjacent to Brick Kiln Farm. Eighteen of the bombs exploded, with one damaging windows at South Cove, Wrentham, and Reydon. At 5:30 a.m. the main part of the B-24 crashed into a field beside the Cove Bottom to South Cove road and exploded in a blazing fireball from which there was no hope of survival for any of the crew.
All the bodied were buried at the Cambridge American Cemetery at Madingley in Cambridgeshire.
Two bodies remain at Madingley, but the other seven were repatriated back to the United States for reburial.
Such was the carnage at the crash site that only four of the crew could be positively identified. Despite post-war attempts to identify the crew, the five identified remains were given a group burial at Arlington National Cemetery at Fort Myer, Virginia.

[b]History:[/b] Growing up Grim-tooth didn't know his real parents or the fact that he was human. According to the wolves who found him in the mountains of Colorado, he was found amid a twisted abomination that was harder than stone but as red as fire. It had plummeted one summer off a human path (Road) and came to rest at the bottom of a gully. Cried of pain attracted the wolves who feasted upon the humans within the wreckage. However, upon ripping open the belly of the female the pack came upon a pup ready to be born. Some of the weakest pack members tried to make a quick meal out of the pup but the alpha and many of the others smelled wolf in the strange creature born of humans.
Taking him and raising the boy as their own, Grim-tooth's wolf blood granted him an instinctual understanding of the first tongue and the language of his cousin the timber wolf. Unlike most pups who grew up rapidly, many seasons passed until he was larger, slower but stronger then his pack member and some of the humans he had seen while he lived with the pack. Certainly, he could have challenged the alpha for control but something held him back. Many nights while his family and he howled up at the moon, something stirred within him. Years passed by once again until a new pack arrived.
A pack that struck a primordial fear within the wolves and Grim-tooth. They walked on two legs like humans but wore the fur and fangs of the wolf. That night, they took Grim-tooth away from his family. Speaking in First-tongue, they told him the truth about the world. That he was something more than human or wolf, they called him Pure. He didn't understand what they meant but his mind drank the knowledge they poured over him. Those that took him told him how humans rape and destroy the land, how there was a time that they were hunted and fed upon like cattle. They spoke of the time Father Wolf ran proud and fast over the world, the true ruler. Until he was destroyed by his own children. Rage burned through him like molten silver at the betrayal.
His newest family in order to make sure he was sincere and true to the ways of the Pure, they allowed him to undergo the rite of scouring. They bound him to a stake in the ground and began to harvest his flesh with a silver fillet knife. The pain was to remind him the pain felt by Father Wolf as he was murdered by his offspring. Each layer of skin was shaved from his body and forced down his throat. the pain of flesh and spirit, the crisis of life prompted his change to occur within the blistering heat of the sun. His flesh healed over only to be torn asunder as he became a Pure.
Not since the days before his purification has Grim-tooth assumed his human form. He denounces it and all human traits as being tainted and unnatural. Instead, he wonders the Pure lands in his wolf or war form. His almost supernatural size has granted him amazing strength and stamina but the time he lived with his lupine cousins taught him the importance of the pack, living for a singular goal, and intelligence. Once again, years pass and Grim-tooth has become a celebrated warrior, an urban hunter. When other Pure ask him how he can stand to live in a place tainted by the foul Long Pigs, Grim-tooth answers by shredding his own flesh to signify that he lives in the pain of betrayal and hunts down the infection plaguing their once Pure world.
Months after his arrival into the city of the long pigs and the Uratha, Grim-tooth met with his ultimate end at the hands of a blonde bitch. In his final moments, Grim was filled with a rage and hate never felt before. Using the last of his strength he ensured that she would forever think him around by causing his skin to heal over the wounds before fading away. However, the wounds were too deep to fix and he fell upon reaching the spiritual realm. He died there; full of hate and with an unquenched bloodlust.
So there, in the realm of spirits of nature and emotion, Grim-tooth’s seething rage refused to die. His soul burned for vengeance, to crush the bitch that killed him between his jaws. Drenched with blood and filled with passion, his soul refused to accept eternal slumber. Ignoring the chill of death, it took comfort from the blaze of hate within. Struggling against the pull of the void, spectral claws tore themselves free from the prison of flesh. Sinking into the ethereal ground of the Spirit Realm, the soul ripped itself from Grim-tooth.
Rising onto its new legs, the beast stared down upon its former form. The shell upon the ground now appeared horribly flawed when gazed upon by perfected eyes. Alone in this new realm, the freed soul smiled. His revival only strengthened his belief that Father Wolf was pleased with the way Grim-tooth lived and died, and this was his reward. A chance to punish his killer.
The Predator King did as he had always done, survived in an alien world. Preying upon the spirits weaker than him and fighting those stronger. This new beast, learned through trial and error the rules of his new flesh. He also learned that physical strength was pointless in this realm. Without a material body, strength of body meant nothing. However, he learned that strength of will and mind was more important. Focusing his hatred upon the world of the living, the soul realized that while it couldn’t pass fully into the living world, it’s words and image could. Grim-tooth had died at the hands of a human bitch…now, she will die from the words of Ghost-tongue
