I knew I had to photograph Lisa as soon as I met her at the Saturday market. Her smile and fair complexion grabbed my attention. She readily accepted when I explained the purpose and intent of the 100 Strangers project.
Lisa has lived in the Middle East and has a special connection with New Zealand after spending time growing up there.
She sports amazing tattoos of Captain Cook's ship Endeavour on her shoulder. Sadly I could not get a decent photo of it that day.

On the seventh night we celebrate Kalaratri Devi. This form of Durga has a complexion dark as night which symbolises infinity. Goddess Kalaratri is the Devi that accepts everything from the Devotee, not only the good, but all the negative qualities. She just absorbs them.
On this night we offered rose water and oil to the feet of the Divine Mother. Gurudev spoke about Kalaratri Devi as the destroyer of our egoistic qualities.
I love Abbie's quirky Debbie Harry-esque bob and creamy complexion. She's definitely a favorite, but for some reason, not the easiest to photograph!

Many of the murals show people in dark colours. Dark complexion was considered beautiful suring the time it was painted.
About Ajanta Caves
The Ajanta Caves in Aurangabad district of Maharashtra, India are 30 rock-cut cave monuments which date from the 2nd century BCE to the 600 CE. The caves include paintings and sculptures considered to be masterpieces of Buddhist religious art (which depict the Jataka tales) as well as frescos which are reminiscent of the Sigiriya paintings in Sri Lanka. The caves were built in two phases starting around 2nd century BCE, with the second group of caves built around 600 CE. It is a protected monument under the Archaeological Survey of India.
Since 1983, the Ajantan Caves have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The caves are located in the Indian state of Maharashtra, near Jalgaon, just outside the village of Ajinthā . Caves are only about 59 kilometers from Jalgaon Railway station and 104 kilometers from Aurangabad (from Ellora Caves 100 Kilometers)
These were for a shoot that I did with my friend Angela before she jets off to college. I love the contrast between her piercing blue eyes, red lips, and porcelain complexion. This was a whole lot of fun to shoot :)
This is Katerina; a hip Latin chick. Her hair is dark brown felt with pigtails, and her complexion is cafe on leche (light brown). She has a pretty white flower with embroidered detail on her hair that she picked in her abuela's (grandmother's) garden. Her dress is white with a colorful design and striped accent with decorative stitch. She has a new feature--full skirt ready for dancing merengue, her favorite music. Her face is delicately painted. She has big emerald green eyes. Her dancing shoes, which are removable, are soft light brown felt.
Katerina measures 17 inches and is stuffed with poly-fil.

Character History: Since he was a young boy, Kardis has never been afraid of the dark. He didn’t have trouble walking home at night or in the predawn hours which wasn’t strange at all really. Everyone gets accustomed to the darkness in time, he just seemed to get over it faster than everyone else. Growing up, he’d work at his parents’ small little scribe business. He’d fetch ink or parchment for them when needed. Though most of the time, he’d entertain his little sister by making shadow puppets with his hands.
He got really good at them too, forming shapes with his fingers that seemed almost impossible when projected upon a wall as a dark shadow. Of course, his sister loved it and when she had friends over for sleepovers, he’d put on puppet shows for them. One night when he couldn’t sleep, he decided to play around with his shadows and began trying new shapes. Creating a new show for his sister, he lost track of time and himself. About an hour later, he realized that his hands weren’t moving any more. The shadows on the wall were responding to his thoughts and not being cast by anything. He was more than startled by this and bolted to tell his parents.
He’d show them what he was able to do and they were terrified by the prospect of their son being able to control darkness itself. They told him it was a foul evil power and that he should stop it. Kardis tried, he really did but now that he was aware of it, he began to notice his shadow moving on it’s own forming shapes that he didn’t cast. There were times shadows slowly stretched out to him as if seeking him out. This went on for years, he and his parents tried their best to hide it.
Then one day, someone came to the door and asked about his shadow. They claimed to have spotted his shadows moving about freely in the square. His parents pale fearing the worst. The stranger introduced himself as someone very much like their son. He was part of a school that would teach him how to suppress the shivering shadows, hiding it. His parents scared for their son agreed.
The next several years, he spent most of his time with his new Guild, learning about shadow magic that it wasn’t something necessarily to fear. That shadow was more common and infinitely older than light itself. That everything is born into darkness only later being introduced to the light. That calmed Kardis in a way and he studied hard. He gained control over his own shadow and then began to figure out how to control more shadows. Upon graduating, he understood that he was in control of the darkness but also that people would fear and more than likely try to harm him if they found out.
Deciding it would be best to take up a normal profession, he’d follow in his parents footsteps and became a scribe to a local ruler. He’d put what was spoken or decided upon into writing. Due to his vast learning in his Guild, he began offering advice to his ruler and gradually earned his trust. Kardis still practices his magic and research to further his knowledge but it’s all done in secrecy.

This is probably the best product I've ever purchased for my problem skin. It evens
out everything, I don't use as much concealer, and therefore, my skin has even started
clearing up a bit. I'm so glad I found this before my wedding day, I will certainly be

My makeup is pretty simple, just some concealer, mineral foundation, a little bronzer,
and finishing powder. My skin used to breakout a lot a couple of years ago but it's
eally cleared up now so I try to keep my makeup simple. But I was so tempted by the
Studio line Complexion Perfection that I bought it and have been putting it on after
concealer and before foundation. I don't have much redness in my skin except around
my nose and I couldn't tell if Complexion Perfection made a difference until other
people kept commenting on how good my skin looked. My sister even said that complexion
seemed brighter.I just use the Studio line Complexion brush, swirl it around the four
colors, and sweep it across my face. Even if you can't tell the difference, other people
could probaby tell so for the low price, it's worth trying out. I love it!!

BLAKENEY WAR MEMORIALS – Situated on the A149 main road, through Blakeney, the cottages were built with a dedicatory memorial wall. The wall is made up of brick work and pebble stones shaped into an arch. The centre plaque is in the shape of an arched window, made of granite and displays the names in the shape of a cross. This is combined with a small, rectangular granite plaque below that displays names from the Second World War. There are 31 names listed for World War 1 and 8 for World War 2. In 1995 the memorial was refaced in marble due to its poor condition.

Alcohol flush reaction, the more technical name, describes the body's inability to break down ingested alcohol completely. You and others like you have an inactive enzyme, aldehyde dehydrogenase 2 (ALDH2), which is normally responsible for breaking down acetaldehyde, a byproduct of the metabolism of alcohol. Acetaldehyde is a toxin and if your body can't break it down, it accumulates and causes flushing. Other symptoms you might experience include dizziness, nausea, headaches, and an increased pulse.
