Place Lalla Yeddouna International Architecture Competition.
Fez - Morocco 2011
Team: MEMA Architects / AMR + / Gabriel Campuzano.
The proposal interprets the river as a connecting vessel that circulates across the city from north to south, and, in doing so, becomes an extension of the existent ecosystem and surrounding mountains. The river is thus introduced to the very center of the city and should therefore be valued as its new environmental heart. The long lost axial importance of the river will be retrieved because of environmental development and the possibilities it will now allow.
The proposal for the regeneration of the Place Lalla Yeddouna sector focuses all its efforts into integrating the primary ecologic structure of the city to the consolidated urban structure, introducing the river as a public space meant for use and contemplation, and establishing it as a direct visual and physical connection to the surrounding streets and squares.

The annual University of Miami Business Plan Competition, sponsored by the School of Business, encourages entrepreneurship among students throughout the University of Miami. The School of Business Administration recognizes that potentially successful business ideas can come from a wide range of disciplines and may originate from an individual or from a group of individuals. The competition has been designed to simulate the real world where anyone can have an idea but only those who follow through on their ideas and work through the details of starting a business will reap the rewards of success.
Time for a caption competition! What are these two lovely chaps saying?
