Another perfect night to watch the fireworks over the Ottawa River. Saturday night was Portugal's show and it was a beautiful display of color and sparkles. This is the view from behind the Supreme Court. I am glad I don't have to decide who is the winner.

Even in "bear paradise," mother Brown Bear has it tough. She caught a big salmon and began munching on it - but the gulls and her own cub didn't let her enjoy it in peace. The birds were smart enough to wait for the scraps, but a few times the cubs teamed up: one distracted her while the other snatched a fish right out from under her. Here the male cub started howling but mom didn't fall for it. Low tide on The Cook Inlet, Lake Clark National Park, Alaska.

1) OK, how many satellite dishes are wholly or partly visible?
2) How many 'live' humans are in the picture?
3) How many dummy humans are visible in the photo?
4) How many windows...................No. Forget it. There's no prize anyway

There's a jr surfing competition in town right now. These youth are very good! I decided to play with a slower shutter speed to see if I could capture speed and intensity. I'm on the fence but this is one that I currently like. I'm not sure if this surfer has been competing, this was taken after the surf competition had wrapped up for the day.
The event continues with an archery competition. The targets and the cup for the winner are located on the staircase in front of the Cathedral.

One reason zoo guests like to watch the penguins eat lunch is that they often try to steal fish from each other. Their antics draws laughter from the crowd, which encourages the penguins to do more.

A shot from my patio which doesn't have much of a view but I thought to be intriguing because of the slight light from a sunset and the artificial light created by man.

Bali (Indonesia) - I don't like cockfighting. In Bali, it's a national sport. A friend who works for a trade travel magazine told me that if I had some pictures of the fights he could buy me some for his newspaper. The only restriction: no too bloody scenes. Since I did not see how to photograph bird fights without violence, I gave up on honoring this order.
I didn't think about it anymore when I ran into this man who was walking with his rooster along a road. Considering the size of the rooster and the care he gave him, I understood he was a fighter.
Despite the language barrier, I could understand that he was walking his champion like every day to keep him in shape ... Before getting plucked in the ring.
