finsh with this competion for an exhibition hall on changxing island, close to the city of dalian in the north of china.
after the presentation in the next week and with hopefully good results i will uopload this project on my flickr side which i like a lot.
you have to know (especially u are an architect): i am working in china. and in china anything goes god dammed fast. so let me explain how it works:

this competition: 4 weeks time. client said: 7 renderings. 1 movie. 2 models, all the other drawings. everything to deliver at the same time!
means: while u are designing they have already to start with the renderings, physical models and movie. crazy.
take a rendering company: no idea about architecture. they are working 7 days in a week. 18 hours a day.
this design is very complicated one for example. they have to draw a 3d max version while i am still designing. of course they don't understand the design. here for example: it's a spiral, a continuous spiral with ramps ans stairs. in reality it's round (not like u see here a bit with corners). BUT THEY HAVE TO CONSTRUCT IT IN 2 days. the whole piece incl. the whole interial space, 'cause of the movie. so they must do mistakes.
they can not speak english and i can not speak chinese. can u imagine? how to explain? jesus.
at the same time i have to go to the model company. same situation. they are working in a bad space 7 days a week. 15 hours a day. here i have to explain again. in english, but they do not understand, 'cause they can just speak chinese.
but i have no time to learn the language, 'cause i have to design the whole time. 7 days a week. 15 hours a day.
then the the design company: they are working at the same time (each person i mean) on 3 different projects. so in my case i have a team around me. they are working for me. at the same time they are working for other projects. this is not working in reality.
no energy. so i must work, work, work and even then the result can't be that great by presentation, 'cause we are architects and we are need a team to do our job fine, but here is not time for doing so.
so: everything goes fast, faster more faster. too fast for me, just too fast, but i can not change the rules of crazy china................................
so in this case here: i am happy with the result already, even the structure, the details are wrong, but we have no time here in crazy china......................
Saturday 29 April saw the first Greater Manchester Volunteer Police Cadet Competition.
Cadets from units across the Force – along with a group from Derbyshire Constabulary – competed in a series of scenario-based tests and a drill competition.
The Blackley unit won the overall prize with cadets from Trafford wining the drill test.
The event took place at the Force’s Sedgley Park Centre with The Lord Mayor of Manchester, Cllr Carl Austin-Behan and the High Sherriff of Greater Manchester Kui Man Gerry Yeung attending as guests of Honour.
Chief Constable Ian Hopkins presented the main award.
