I knew the piano was a prop, but I was fooled into thinking it might be real because it was so heavy that the prop crew really struggled to get it on stage and in position. Turns out this was because there were half a dozen kids packed in it like sardines! It was a really unique yet interesting performance (set to the music of Fur Elise by Beethoven but with a rock beat) **It's really hard to explain unless you see it**

I rarely enter competitions, partly because I am lazy and partly because there are so many great photographers out there now days I don't feel I stand a chance. So I was really blown away when one of my photoshop students talked me into entering and I won 3rd prize out of 1500 entries! I'm still blown away. The prize wasn't huge but the honour of winning was massive to me.
Local high school students compete in a bridge building competition hosted by Saint Vincent College.
I was sitting at Daund platform which is somewhat 30mins from Pune. As I was sitting there, something interesting began to happen. I must admit, I have always liked the things happening on a typical railway platform. There was a time I use to sit back and observe people around.
This guy was selling vada pav and biryani on this morning. His clean and organized cart stall was the first thing that caught my eye. Even the two out of four wheels of his cart were brand new :)
He was standing straight, active, looking into the eyes of people crossing by. He had a shining brand new and clean aluminum foil bowls to serve hot biryani. He gave me an impression that he was determined to do well in his small business.
I like the way he stood in front of a shop, which was way bigger than his small stall and sold many eatables including vada pav and biryani. He looked confident of selling his stuff. I sat there for around 30-35 minutes. People passing by surely noticed his stall, gave a good glance to his eatables but chose to buy from his established competitor. He never looked bother as I observed 9 out of 10 chose to buy from big shop. From his body language and mannerisms, he never looked intimidated from competition. He has an attitude to make him successful. May be next time if I may happen to visit daund, I hope and may be having his own shop... you never know !
Update : Daund Railway Station is famous for its tasty biryani, which I was not aware of.
