Kingfisher Miniatures, a little-known producer of resin military vehicle kits, make a Transit Connect in 1/76 scale, and I purchased one as I felt a resin body would be much easier to convert into the Tourneo Connect minibus than a diecast, but no sooner had I completed the painstaking task of cutting out the windows than Kingfisher introduced their own Tourneo version! The Kingfisher model is not the same as the Oxford, being the longer-wheelbase version with a higher roof, and is a little crude in comparison.

A comparison shot of two ladies bicycles , one in Brisbane and the other in London . Why bicycles , no particular reason , just because they were there and caught my eye . Its pure coincidence that they are women's bikes , they are both facing in the same direction , both have carrying baskets attached , ( a main feature that caused this comparison in the first place ) , and both are leaning against a metal railing . Interesting again , the above is in front of a vehicular ramp leading below ground level and the English bike is in front of stairs that lead to a traditional below ground level basement area , again pure coincidence but a fact worth noting . Their presentation and colouring I find interesting , thats not to say they don't have red bicycles in London and grey ones in Brisbane … Even the weather under which these shots were taken says something , the above in strong sunshine and the English shot in more subdued light , indicative of that locations weather , again pure coincidence on the day ..

Here is my Company vs. What I've done to my tan celine "October Ransom ". Sorry if I'm late but I didn't have nice photos and wanted to join. October is my only doll I can post. The rest are unfinished. Dx well she is too but actually not in pieces.

Grove Street Bridge between Cherry Hill and Haddonfied, viewed from the Haddonfield side, in the 1930s and today. The building in the background in the 1930s picture was a garden center, today it is the National Guard Armory site.

In fact, given how wildly out the colours I originally blocked in the blue bits were with it's not looking too bad now. The left wall was dreadful at first, as I'd got the colour and the approach for the underpainting wrong, and it's taken a fair bit of reworking to rescue it - just need to adjust it's shape now and do the final texture and shading. The acrylics paint over earlier coats nicely as I thought they would - and I think the wash for the shadow on the pavement may well be possible - thinned some of the paint for shading the green part.

Overall, fairly pleased with progress so far.

Here I tested Phoenix 200 in a direct comparison with an established film. Both shots are completely un-postprocessed. These are the raw scans as I received them from the lab.

I used two cameras with light meters that I know to be reliable. To the left a Nikon F5 with Harman Phoenix 200, shot at the box value of ISO 200. To the right a Canon A-1 with Kodak Ektar 100. The location and lighting conditions are identical. The framing is not, but that should not matter.

Ektar 100 is not known to be a very forgiving film but it acquitted itself of its task quite well. The colours of the neon lights have been faithfully preserved and the exposure is good. Highlights are not blown out and the dark parts show as much detail as one can expect, with no colour hues. Conversely, in the Phoenix shot the highlights are blown out and at the same time the dark parts have lost most detail and acquired a greenish hue that just wasn't there. From most other Phoenix shots I've seen, including those on my first test roll, I'd assumed that Phoenix should be shot at a lower ISO rating than the box value. The dim background seems to bear that out. But I wonder: The highlights are already blown out - that would get worse with overexposure, as would the unpleasant halation that appears to be unavoidable with Phoenix.

Hey. You just have to look at them (and even that's optional); I had to shoot, select and process the photographs.

To the left the Seiko Epson R-D1x, made by Cosina, with a Leitz Summicron-C 40mm f/2.

To the right the Nikon D100.

Different lenses, same focal length and opening,

To the left: Leitz Summicron-C 40mm f/2, and the lens is another Cosina product, the Voigtländer Ultron 40mm f/2.0 SL II ASPH.

Comparison of best shots.

I'd say:

Epson/Leica: Sharper, more detail and structure in the fine gradations, but less vivid and with lesser contrast than the Nikon/Voigtländer.

Also, I'm rather proud of how clean I got the Nikon sensor, which was incredibly dirty when I received the camera.

Left to Right:

ResinSoul Coffee, Granado Tan, IpleHouse RealSkin

In person, the Granado Tan is actually a better match than the ResinSoul Coffee for the IpleHouse RealSkin. It looks darker in person, but photographs a little lighter. But between just the Granado Tan and Iple Real, Granado is more sandy brown, where Iple is more reddish brown.

Ok i am getting a few questions of the big stopper. I have put together a rough shabby guide so i apologise for its appearance.

There are three images all shot at f13 using the big stopper using ISO (or ASA) speed to alter the exposure duration. You will see the effect that using a dark 10 stop filter will have as you expand the shutter range. The example is poor but as i have no use for the images i thought i might as well use them for something.

The white smears in the lake are swans.

Oh and please excuse the sensor dust :)

On a side note i would like to know if people think i should better organise my sets? Should i have organised sets top 10's or 100's etc.

Anyway feedback always appreciated, hope you find the comparison useful.

I like the taller bodies primarily because the taller bodies are more suited to interact with my fashion dolls!

Platinum White Katsilk Saran is a 100% color match as far as I can tell through the box window! That makes me happy, because Shion, my MSR is getting a reroot from that Saran and I was hoping it would turn out like PD Paris' hair!

I don't collect Disney VIP, I'm not really an American doll collector I just collect Monster High and Lalaloopsy but I recently picked this doll up for a friend of mine and decided before I sent her off I should get comparison pictures of as I am not likely to pick up another doll from this line.

There's not as much height difference as I anticipated (both are barefoot).

Comparison shots.

from left to right: Little Monica Little Harmony, Minifee and D-storic Narae.

All three is normal skin, Narae is Normal yellow, I think, tho compare to the other two it's so pale, maybe it's white? Though I never seen D-storic white, so not sure. Anyone can confirm?

Compare the distance between the door and the front of the bus, which is far too large on the original. The revised model might be acceptable as an open-topper with those thick pillars gone but there is little hope for the original. It's so far removed from what it's supposed to be that at least one fleet operator designated it a fictional body of his company's own design!

Another size comparison. I thought the MacBook Pro would feel a lot bigger and bulkier, but actually doesn't seem that much more to shlep around. Apple Design huzzah! If this had been another manufacturer, it would have been 3 times bulkier.

Torso test. Both Withdolls have had their stoppers removed.

Basically everyone moves well, except for the MNF that's useless. And everyone but the narae and minisup end up stupid and broken looking due to the chest joint (I still don't understand how it's supposed to be aesthetically pleasing). Well, mnf doesn't but that's just because it doesn't move as much.

Here's a side to side comparison of my Painted production Bren and DP28 to Overmolded Bren and DP28. I felt like making one, here it is. Enjoy!
