A Shih Tzu (English: /ˈʃiːtsuː/; Chinese: 西施犬; pinyin: xīshī quǎn), also known as the Chrysanthemum Dog, is a toy dog breed, weighing 10 - 19 pounds when fully grown. The exact origins of the breed are unknown, but it is thought to have originated in Tibet and then been developed in China although various hypotheses exist. The Shih Tzu is a sturdy little dog with a short muzzle and large dark eyes. They have a soft and long double coat. A Shih Tzu should stand no more than 28 cm (11 in.) at the withers and with an ideal weight of 4.5 to 8.6 kg (10 to 19 lbs). Drop ears are covered with long fur, and the heavily furred tail is carried curled over the back. The coat may be of any color, though white and with blazes of grey are frequently seen. The Shih Tzu is slightly longer than tall, and bigger dogs ideally should carry themselves "with distinctly arrogant carriage". A very noticeable feature is the underbite, which is required in the breed standard.[1] The traditional long silky coat, which reaches the floor, requires daily brushing to avoid tangles. Because of their long coat and fast-growing hair, regular grooming is necessary, which may be expensive and should be taken into account when considering adopting one of this breed. Often the coat is clipped short to simplify care. For conformation showing, the coat must be left in its natural state, though trimming for neatness around the feet and anus is allowed. The shorter cut is typically called a "puppy cut"[2] or a "teddy bear cut" when the puppy cut is accompanied by a fuller, rounder face, resembling a stuffed animal.[3]

LtR:

Aquaman:

I used an Old Rep. trooper torso and legs. The head was going to be used on a Moon Knight, but I like it here. The shoulder pauldron was on a terrible BvS version of aquaman. Not much else.

Batman Armor:

The fig is pretty simple itself, but I found that green wire and used it to make it look like (Bane :P) kryptonite.

Deathstroke:

Major paintjob on this guy. I pretty much just changed all the color on the antman torso and added a few of my own details on the arms. The head was on Quicksilver and so was the hair. So I guess it's quicksilver.

Galah

Scientific Name:Eolophus roseicapillus

Description: The Galah can be easily identified by its rose-pink head, neck and underparts, with paler pink crown, and grey back, wings and undertail. Birds from the west of Australia have comparatively paler plumage. Galahs have a bouncing acrobatic flight, but spend much of the day sheltering from heat in the foliage of trees and shrubs. Huge noisy flocks of birds congregate and roost together at night.

Similar species: The Galah is generally unmistakable, but in flight may resemble aGang-gang Cockatoo in shape.

Distribution: The Galah is one of the most abundant and familiar of the Australian parrots, occurring over most of Australia, including some offshore islands.

Habitat: The Galah is found in large flocks in a variety of timbered habitats, usually near water.

Feeding: Galahs form huge, noisy flocks which feed on seeds, mostly from the ground. Seeds of grasses and cultivated crops are eaten, making these birds agricultural pests in some areas. Birds may travel large distances in search of favourable feeding grounds.

Breeding: Galahs form permanent pair bonds, although a bird will take a new partner if the other one dies. The nest is a tree hollow or similar location, lined with leaves. Both sexes incubate the eggs and care for the young. There is high chick mortality in Galahs, with up to 50 % of chicks dying in the first six months. Galahs have been recorded breeding with other members of the cockatoo family, both in the wild and captivity. These include the Sulphur-crested Cockatoo, C. galerita.

Calls: The voice is a distinctive high-pitched screech, 'chi-chi'.

Minimum Size: 35cm

Maximum Size: 36cm

Average size: 36cm

Average weight: 337g

Breeding season: February to July in the north; July to December in the south

Clutch Size: 3 to 4

White-faced Heron

Scientific Name: Egretta novaehollandiae

Description: The White-faced Heron is mostly light blue-grey in colour, with a characteristic white face. In flight, the dark flight feathers of the wing contrast with the paler grey plumage, making this bird easily identifiable when viewed from below. It has a long, slim neck and a pointed grey-black bill. The legs are long and dull yellow in colour. Sexes are similar. When breeding, the birds have long feathers (nuptial plumes) on the head, neck and back. The White-faced Heron has a slow bouncing flight. Young White-faced Herons are similar in appearance to the non-breeding adults (no nuptial plumes), but are duller, with little or no white on the face. They often have a reddish colour on the underparts.

Distribution: White-faced Herons are the most commonly seen herons in Australia. They are found throughout the mainland and Tasmania, and most coastal islands. They also occur in Indonesia, New Guinea, New Caledonia and New Zealand.

Habitat: White-faced Herons can be found anywhere where there is water, from tidal mudflats and coastal reefs to moist grasslands and gardens.

Feeding: The White-faced Heron feeds on a wide variety of prey, including fish, insects and amphibians. Food is obtained in a variety of ways, such as walking and disturbing prey, searching among damp crevices or simply standing in the water and watching for movement.

Breeding: White-faced Herons may breed outside the breeding season in response to rainfall. Both sexes share the building of the nest, incubation of the eggs and care of the young. The nest is an untidy structure of sticks, placed in a tree. Normally only one brood of young is raised in a year.

Minimum Size: 60cm

Maximum Size: 70cm

Average size: 65cm

Breeding season: October to December

Clutch Size: Three to four, occasionally up to seven.

Comments? What do you think?

This mask was mined and hand carved in Mexico. It is made from gold sheen obsidian AKA natural lava glass, or teotetl (translates to "divine stone").

The stone appears black at first, but when viewed at certain angles and light, a beautiful gold appears! Stories are told, that Cortez and the Spanish thought that this was gold. They thought this stone was cursed. Why? As night fell it turned black like the night itself, however the sun made it glow and sparkle like gold.

The mask represents life as a continuous cycle. One side skeletal and the other flesh.

Set mask on white plastic, with a white paper background. I started to light this with strobes to the sides. The lighting was harsh and didn't model well. I settled on a long exposure using the room lighting - 2 incandescent bulds on the ceiling. On a tripod, using my 17-55mm F2.8 lens, I made the image with a long exposure. A little tweaking in p-shop to get the golden color to come out more, and whiten the background a little more. That's basically all. If this inspires you to try something, post me a link!

😍😍😷😷💉💉💉😷😷😍😍

How can a library, a theatre and other cultural partners successfully coexist under one roof? Firstly by breaking down the walls...and secondly, by combining the architecture of public space with the design of programmability. The result is called Hub Kerkrade: not only a resource centre, but also a hotbed of knowledge, information, education and entertainment.

Kerkrade is a city in the southernmost province of the Netherlands, close to Germany. Hub Kerkrade, located in a former shopping centre, has a surface area of no less than 5,000 m2, which houses the theatre, the library, various cultural partners and the nearby Kerkrade Music School. This location is part of the revitalised city centre. The design of the Hub is a new co-creation of international creative guide and architect Aat Vos (design concept, strategy, creative direction) in collaboration with Mars Interior Designers (design, engineering).

Originally, the library occupied half of the building's surface and was separated from the theatre by a wall. The removal of the partitions created more space, light and a new idea for the foyer. This almost always empty space has been transformed into a multifunctional shared living space where people can work, study or meet. The focal point of this space is in the foyer: the theatre staircase is equipped with a beautiful banister and a reddish-pink carpet, covered on both sides with blue steel. The foyer bar was made of copper and is now set against a background of raw bricks, combined with an LED screen and a light box. The "break drinks cabinet" steals the show, both in terms of its size and the colour-changing lighting.
