It snowed for a while around noon hour, so I tried shooting some more snow. The condition was perfect. It was below -8C and not overly windy. I shot all of these on a laser disc in my garden shed and am happy with the results

The previous day and evening around 15 cm of snow had fallen, but the next morning the winter sun tried to deal with the morning fog. A clear blue sky would appear during the day, but temperatures remained below 0°C througout.

Vermont National Guard Soldiers, make their way along Jay Peak, Vermont during an overnight reconnaissance training mission. The Soldiers tested their cold-weather survival skills while also training on a variety of reconnaissance and movement tasks and techniques.

Southern Australia is now officially a couple of weeks into our Autumn season. Tomorrow, 21 March, is our Autumn Equinox. To me this is the beginning of the cold weather and I have a need to be doing some knitting. If I was in the north of Australia it would be still very hot and the knitting would stay in the locker. Knitting is one of my cold weather hobbies and when I get very cold I drag the previously knitted blanket out to keep me warn while I knit. What will I knit this season....? Maybe another blanket for one of the grandkids.

Yesterday's sun trying hard to break through the cloud ~ it was so cold so my wife and decided to go for a quick walk and thankfully I had my iPhone with me, albeit, it always is with me!!

Over the past few months I've visited quite a few cities, most of them for the first time. Out of all of them, I think Saint Louis would be the one place I wouldn't mind living. It's a wonderful place with a great food culture and a lot to do. Take a trip there if you get a chance, you won't be disappointed.
Photo taken 01.16.24. In Texas, it's not often that ponds start to ice up. It's been cold for several days now. The temperatures have ranged from the low teens to mid 20s. That's just cold enough to put a thin layer of ice around a few of the banks. Photo copyright Clif Bosler 2024
Many find Fall the most resonant of seasons. The changing of colors and the end of life for each leaf is a subtle and chilling reminder that all things are impermanent, all things end.

Naval personal from Commando Helicopter Force (CHF) take part in a forward operating base exercise (FOBEX) in preparation for Exercise Cold Response which takes place in the middle of March in Northern Norway. Two hundred naval personal from CHF are currently stationed at the Joint Helicopter Command (JHC) training base Bardufoss, Norway. The JHC base known as “Clockwork” provides survival and operational training and support facilities to enable aviation capable unit’s arms to survive, operate and fight in extreme C2 environments.
