She'd brought that backpack and it was just laying around. I was like "If you don't put that thing on for this shot, you betta!" That thing is stylish.

At least from Fidget's point of view. We're heading to 25F (-4C) tonight, a record for the date. (Previous record was 30F in 1906.)

I personally worry about the wildlife when the temperatures drop (or rise in that matter) down to the extremes and their survival becomes miserable. However, the wildlife does have a variety of strategies that improve their ability to withstand the cold and also has adapted to harsh conditions! (Unfortunately, wildlife can succumb to frostbite and hypothermia as they are living, feeling beings.)
This picture is not sharp. My camera got frozen in a moment. The lens were so slow to focus.
Yeah, it's not cold yet. Waiting for -50ºC.
On the way home the other day I was greeted to these conditions. The falling snow in the sunset light was nice to see. I didn't take long, the wind was cold.

I just loved this one of the girls! They are 6 years apart but the best of friends! I never had a sister myself, so I don't know what this is like...but it looks like a lot of fun. Anyway, this was the first real snow we had last year. They were so happy :) (ETA- Their 2 brothers stayed inside where it was warm and cozy!)

The cold conditions and frequent snowfall has lent for some beautiful landscape scenery. I pushed myself to get out to Taughannock and was not disappointed.
