This picture is not sharp. My camera got frozen in a moment. The lens were so slow to focus.
Yeah, it's not cold yet. Waiting for -50ºC.
I just loved this one of the girls! They are 6 years apart but the best of friends! I never had a sister myself, so I don't know what this is like...but it looks like a lot of fun. Anyway, this was the first real snow we had last year. They were so happy :) (ETA- Their 2 brothers stayed inside where it was warm and cozy!)

The cold conditions and frequent snowfall has lent for some beautiful landscape scenery. I pushed myself to get out to Taughannock and was not disappointed.

After going o the hardware store in Cornish today, I took these photos of the fast moving clouds at the time from my truck in the parking lot, these clouds had to be moving at 45-50 MPH at least, they where hauling.

Sundogs are made during very cold weather by ice crystals called diamond dust drifting in the air at low levels. These crystals act as prisms, bending the light rays passing through them.

It rained again throughout the night into early morning and then it froze as the temperature got down below 32 degrees.
A big winter storm disrupted things for a couple of days. Catching this sunset in the aftermath made it all worthwhile.

I went a meagre 2.6 km (1.6 miles). Temperature: -19 Centigrade (-2.2 Fahrenheit). I’m bragging a little bit.
With milkweed taking a hit from our recent nights of cold weather, I looked for monarch caterpillars. Right next to my back steps this one proved slow but moving. Not much more than .25" long, this fat little one is a survivor.
