A detailed close-up of oak leaves and grass still coated with frost and lingering dew at lunchtime. Despite the higher sun, tiny ice crystals and water droplets remain clinging to the blades of grass, sparkling in the clear daylight. Warm brown leaves contrast with cool green grass and icy highlights, capturing the fleeting transition between frost and thaw on a cold winter day.
11:30 in the morning (according to the tower clock) at Stedham Church in the fast thawing snow.
On Mill Lane in Stedham Village near Midhurst, West Sussex.
The tower dates back to 1673 but there has been a church on this site since 1040. The present structure (with the exception of the tower) was built in 1850 by Joseph Butler of Chichester in the Gothic style. It is a Grade II listed building.

As we were winter camping along many of Utahs many deverse locations, We decided to take a short hike up to Skyline Arch in Arches National Park.
Rafting is popular in Jasper National Park. The outfitter managing this group made it fun but a serious business - the participants were dressed in wet suits and lifejackets, and they spent a considerable amount of time on shore orienting everyone to safety rules. Once they carried the boats to the water's edge, more practice was done with paddling commands, team work, and seating. It was a good thing too as no sooner did one group practice getting in while still on shore, that one of the crew was bounced right out of the boat when someone sat behind them.
I was interested in what they were doing and one of the instructors was kind enough to let me photograph them when I promised that I would send him copies of the pictures. The next day, we were unable to leave due to a heavy snowfall that closed pretty well everything.
The red dawn reflected in the now frozen water of the River Wharfe here in Yorkshire. The cold snap we're having has seen the river water freeze for the first time in some years.
After nearly two straight weeks of sub-freezing temperatures, the Chicago River looked gorgeous as ever.

This picture was taken before our recent snow, but it was bitter cold and windy. I think these two gave up on finding a meal and decided to keep each other warm.
West Pond, Parsonsfield, Maine.
Panorama:
Well, we where back into the cold today with a high temperature of only 33°F and a north west wind that was gusting up to about 45 MPH.
Tonight's forecast is calling for snow showers this evening. Becoming clear later. Low around 5°F and Winds NW at 10 to 20 mph.
Cornish, Maine.
Panorama view from Highland Farms in Cornish near sunset, it was very dark with a North West wind blowing, the chill of winter was in the air.
Snow flurries are expected in the higher elevations tonight.
Long Pond, Parsonsfield, Maine.
The hard winter freeze has come to Parsonsfield over the past few day's bringing record setting cold and strong North West winds.
Wind blown water spray on Long Pond has created many ice formations along the eastern shoreline.
I failed miserably at my 365 project :-( Nowadays I'm too occupied and don't have enough time to shoot during daytime hours. Since I'm not keen on becoming a bigger gear slut than I already am, there's little room for indoors photography on daily basis. I hope that in the coming weeks I'll be able to shoot more often than I do since the end of December '16.
A view from behind the main village church, looks very 'old fashioned' around here. As someone commented on a previous image of mine, kinda looks Dickensian, what with the snow, mist and eerie calmness about the place.

Last nights cold temperature of 2.F made for some ice formations on trees on the Ossipee river today.
