Rush, CO - I was on my way to see a friend when I saw this stark tree in the middle of nowhere. I knew it was cold however I had no idea how cold it really was until I got out of my Jeep to take this picture. I took about three shots and jumped back in the vehicle.
What you can’t tell in this picture is how hard the wind was blowing, it felt like my eyes were freezing in my sockets even though I was out in the elements for only about a minute.
As the sun cracks the horizon, a full Cold Moon sets over the 150 West Jefferson Building in downtown Detroit.
On this day, a large cold upper level low moved in from California and initiated high wind warnings over much of Arizona (I received gusts to 40 mph). Just after this system passed, temperatures dropped from the mid 40's to 32F with a wintery mix of rain/snow, grapple, ice pellets, etc. The odd looking cloud at center could have been hiding a cold funnel since I observed a weak rotation.
Taken at 2:45PM from Oracle, Arizona.
My grandparents were over for the week, so I used their camera to take a pic. I'm ridiculously happy with the building in the back, it looks aesthetically nice and it's concise for the techniques inside of it. I also like the fire, and the fact that I added an actual bundle of logs. What do you guys think?
Ice was floating on Gothia River today. Snow was falling and the sky was boring gray, a perfect scene for a B&W photo for day 28 in the "2019: one photo each day" group.
Cold light
This was the last image I took during my January 2023 trip to Hokkaido with Rohan Reilly Alex and Gavin. Just a simple stand of silver birch trees during a soft gentle snow fall helping to create that lovely soft filtered light.
Cold Outside
One more image from the weekend and a view at sunrise looking towards Elvanfoot and Leadhills.
One of those mornings that make you feel good about photography.
