How can it be so impossibly cold when it was 62 just days ago?!?

Photos taken around HQ and at the starts of the FUBAR and SNAFU Marathon and Half Marathon organised by Badger Tail Events at a very snowy Bovington Camp, courtesy of the MOD, ARMCEN and Landmarc.

The question of the day today is "how did it go from being 80* this morning to 55* this afternoon?" I adore it. I'm wearing my favorite slouchy warm top and I'm looking forward to wearing my favorite hat (see day 8) tomorrow. Today was a pretty good day. Worked this morning and watched the Stars get butchered by the Devils at Dad's in the evening.

I also started a new project - currently untitled - in which I take a picture out my driver's side window every time I'm stopped at a red light. I figure, I spend so much time in my car, might as well do something creative with it. I'm hoping it'll force me to see my surroundings in a new light.

Oh and today is my 50th picture for 365Days! :D

Finally, post-processing can be credited to Poladroid, a cool new Mac-only app.

They always look cute when I change their clothes. :)

Arctic Edge 18 is a biennial, large-scale, joint-training exercise that prepares and tests the U.S. military’s ability to operate tactically in the extreme cold-weather conditions found in Arctic environments with more than 1500 participants from the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, and Navy utilizing the unique and expansive air and ground training areas in Alaska. This is two hours after sunrise! Even now, it is only 8--and I have to go bring the animals hay and water!!

Nothing beats a storm, but a cold beer

I picked this one, because it's such a serene, rural scene.

Screen shot from a weather app, WeatherPop, which is now deceased. But the data is from the NWS…

These are random places I've visited and keep in my list as nostalgia. I have family in Tupper Lake.

They're experiencing mathematically improbable weather right now, according to this.

Wendy made Sesame a baby blue doggie vest this morning. Our

temperatures are dropping with a significant snow accumulation

projected over the next 48 hours. Hopefully Sesame will appreciate

the new garment. She certainly did not enjoy the fitting.

Headed out for a 10-miler before work this morning and it was 40 degrees. Brrrr. Time to break out the running pants and long-sleeved shirt.

Heavy snows caused major disruptions across Dartmoor in February 2009 with many hamlets and villages cut off from the outside world. Drifts up to 10 feet deep blocked the road between Holne and Hexworthy.
