In those cold days one can only dream about warm/hot summer/autumn :-)

Faistos, Crete 2012

I posted a photo of this pretty red barn from Oct. 14 surrounded by brilliant autumn color, and here it is again on Nov 9. We don't usually get snow this early. It only lasted a day but made everything very pretty. Sorry to all of you getting snow and cold weather this week!

Hydrangeas are blooming now. This is one from my yard. I planted some to replace shrubs that were killed by the arctic blast of cold weather we had over the winter. A lovely woodland plant.

Thank you for posing with me~even though you had to stay up late to do it. You are a good friend to have :)

He said I wanna see you again

But I'm stuck in colder weather

Maybe tomorrow will be better

Can I call you then

She said you're ramblin' man

You ain't ever gonna change

You gotta gypsy soul to blame

And you were born for leavin'

According to our extended forecasts, 2022-2023 will be remembered as a time to shake, shiver, and shovel—a winter season filled with plenty of snow, rain, and mush as well as some record-breaking cold temperatures!

Dormant blueberry bushes turn a beautiful shade of red. Snowcapped, under this purply coloured, evening sky. Low in the sky sunlight reflecting off the barn and snow.

Red foxes live around the world in many diverse habitats including forests, grasslands, mountains, and deserts. They also adapt well to human environments such as farms, suburban areas, and even large communities. The red fox's resourcefulness has earned it a legendary reputation for intelligence and cunning.

Like a cat's, the fox's thick tail aids its balance, but it has other uses as well. A fox uses its tail (or “brush”) as a warm cover in cold weather and as a signal flag to communicate with other foxes.

From the Garden Hide

Haven't seen the Treecreepers for a while but todays cold weather has brought one back to the fat feeding tree.

Super little birds

Going forward I'll hopefully have a bit more time for taking and posting photos - famous last words!!! In the meantime another one from the archives and a reminder we are due some cold weather!

Spring hasn't sprung here yet ;-)

This is Fynn a day after his dental surgery and he is okay. The surgery was at 11 a.m. on Thursday, 2 hours later I took him home and he behaved as if nothing had happened. This morning he absolutely wanted to go out in the garden but it was very cold and as he hasn't exactly been healthy lately he had to wear one of his sweaters. Wearing a sweater is something that doesn't bother Fynn at all. I took this quick snapshot as I wanted a photo for an update.

Don't feel obligated to comment on this photo and the other one I post today as I'm behind with commenting myself and doubt that I will be able to catch up. This is a crazy week, not only because of Fynn's surgery but also because I'm drowning in work and I'm quite stressed out.

Now if only I could bring this weather to where I live irl. 🤔❄️☃️

Weather has been really bad here for months now, but we finally got clear skies and cold weather for some days.

I was standing in the middle of a river in -20°C when the lights got mental for a while, so i lost one of my spikes.

But well worth it, don't you agree ?

It has been a while since there was a real winter period in the Low Countries.

After a series of nights with strong frost (below -10C), ice on lakes and rivers became thick enough for the Dutch tradition of ice skating.

The sea is partly covered with ice and partly still undulating. The sky is almost overcast and the horizon is glimmering with enchanting sunlight.

When I wave my camera, the sun's rays start moving and float like streaks of light over the sea. The ice floes are also moving and seem to dance on the rippling water.

i was driving south with a friend, when we suddenly bumped into this.

I have never seen nature do this before so i was pretty stoked

Rain and cold weather have dominated the weather in June up here in the mountains only 3hrs NorthWest of Oslo. And the last night we had freezing 0 degrees Celsius - not much tast of summer in that. But the landscape seeems to thrive all set in strong green.

Portrait of a Great Gray Owl hunting during a snow shower. One of my favorite details of these owls that show up in this low light are the gold flecks around the outer cone of its face.

Bitterly cold, wet and windy day so not many birds about.

Always happy to see the Greenfinch though.

Nice to see the trees getting leaves and showing green in my background.

So cold I had to get out my heated gloves and I was in my hide!

Yesterday I drove to Genkingen it's on the swabian alb. The weather was very cold and windy but the snow looked fantastic, I shot a few pictures from some woodstacks after that I moved on to other places.
