Gents — Do not presume your favorite bars and restaurants are going to be operating daily on Pre-COVID-19 Hours! The Governor’s three month shutdown of the Las Vegas Strip, followed by the nine month shutdown of bars, and including the on-going Coronavirus Recession, have greatly impacted what days and what hours your favorite bars and restaurants are going to be open for business. Bar and restaurant workers have been furloughed! Even after nine months of shutdown, some bars and restaurants have yet to re-open, even on busy weekends. Some bars and restaurants are open only on busy weekends and especially during weekends when college and NFL teams are playing.

POUR 24 has been shut down since the Las Vegas Shutdown nine months ago — So do your homework and check in advance. 😷🤔

Four months ago you left Las Vegas, so did you know that you would be sitting here tonight at the penthouse cocktail bar at Alle' Lounge On 66 savoring your refreshing Key Lime Pie Cocktail? 😊 Surely not so soon. 😏

This is my fifth modular building. Well, to be fair, it's more a modification than it is my own creation.

My husband bought the instructions for the Apple Store a while ago and enjoyed building it a lot. But since we are not that much into Apple he asked me to replace the store by his favourite brand.

I liked the original building but I always thought that it's not quite the right scale and doesn't really fit together with the other modular buildings. So I took the elements that I like (which are the colours, the facade of the ground floor and the layout of the smaller window) and created my own version.

There's now a Microsoft store on the ground floor with real sliding doors. The interior is mainly based on the original one, only adjusted to the different corporate design.

On the first and second floor there are apartments of a comic-strip artist and a musician.

The highlight is the cocktail bar on the roof terrace which is considered an insider's tip among Bricktown.

Gentlemen — In five and a half days, you must grudgingly return to your normal life, and your job, where the Coronavirus Global Pandemic has forced you, and all of your co-workers, into daily doing the work of two to three workers! So do forgive yourself if your body is desperately telling you to go slow and easy this week. So take it slow and easy with your Solo vacation! And do not forget that not all nightclubs and dance lounges are up and running yet. The threat of the Delta Variant of the Coronavirus has made it risky for two Solo strangers, a man and a woman, both vaccinated, to dance together on a crowded nightclub dance floor with other Solo strangers, perhaps not vaccinated.

And do forgive yourself if you choose not to get dressed up in a suit and tie to do dinner and attend a late night burlesque show — or attempt to venture out to find a nightclub that still permits couple dancing. In the meantime, use this pit-stop at the Center Bar to enjoy your favorite cocktail and to decide what you want to do this evening. 🤔

By the way, the OpenTable app loaded on your smartphone knows your present location and it knows how long its been since your last meal -- so what is it telling you to do now? 😏

Comments always appreciated, as long as you keep it clean - I love to hear your feedback! xx

Our first weekend in Wakefield.

What a brilliant weekend we had too!

Friday night we went for something to eat at the Calder and Hops before going across the road to an 80s themed video shop called RBT Video.

If you know which video to ask for, they let you into their secret 80s themed speakeasy cocktail bar!

It was amazing. Great music, lovely cocktails, and we met some lovely people in there too. A cracking evening!

As part of our anniversary weekend, we decided it would be nice to have an afternoon tea on the Sunday. Afternoon teas can be very expensive and not all the options were open to us on a Sunday, but we found one that was perfect for us - the B Bar! Instead of sandwiches on the bottom shelf - there's usually one sandwich that no one wants! - there was fish and chips! Top shelf up was the traditional scones, clotted cream and strawberry jam. The middle shelf was a selection of desserts. We had to admit defeat after the lovely scones, so the kind waitress gave us a box so we could (carefully!) take the desserts home on the train! It was lovely and I highly recommend it!

Located beneath London’s largest living wall, bbar is a vibrant cocktail bar and restaurant in the heart of Victoria, London. Opposite Buckingham Palace and close to Victoria Station, bbar is perfectly positioned, and offers pre-theatre dining for Hamilton and Wicked at nearby theatres. Our menu features signature classics with a modern twist, from fish and chips to our popular 'Son of a Gun' burger. Enjoy delicious signature cocktails on our sunny terrace or catch live sports screenings, all in a family-friendly environment. (From the B Bar website)

The next leg of our road trip took us to Cleveland, Ohio, for a two night stay with my wife's auntie and uncle. During our stay they cooked us an amazing bbq, showed us around Cleveland and took us paddle-boarding on Lake Erie.

This shot was taken from a rooftop cocktail bar at The Hilton in downtown Cleveland. You can't beat drinks with view, especially with a view like this. I'll admit there's nothing Erie about this sunset, was just a lame pun!

Saturdy in Lincoln. Lawson''s restaurant is so good that, despite hving been there for tea the night before, we alsp went for lunch the next day and I had the same thing - the divine beef blade with horseradish mash, followed by amazing sticky toffee pudding.

On the evening we were booked into the secret speakeasy Vice & Co where we met a lovely couple Sarah and Stuart.

Ater that we went on the the Strait and Narrow, then to Home nightclub for a dance on the light-up dance floor.

A brilliant night!

Have you ever known it to be this hot out on the Las Vegas Strip this early in the month of April! 😅 It must be Global Warming and El Nino!! 😧

Having dinner here Wednesday night at FUHU in the District, and then attending the Katy Perry Show at the Resorts World Theatre, was a big mid-week highlight, but it wasn't intended to be The Big Climax of your week. Tonight is the The Big Climax of your seven day Vegas Vacation! 😁 So Enjoy!

There is still much joy in the world, but can there be a much greater joy than doing a ‘Meet-Up’ with one’s Favorite Flickr Friend! 😁 🍹🍹🍹

By the way, Bourbon and Citrus 🍋🍊 are the stars of this 'Vegas Vice' cocktail. Cheers!!

Gentlemen — The Allē Lounge On 66, is where you and your very lovely lady need to be right now and all night long!! 🌹🍹

I captured this portrait of Ludovica in a small cocktail bar, located in an old abandoned tube station which also served as an air raid shelter in WW2. The entire place is decorated in a post-war context, from the music to the way to the staff were dressed. The best seats in the house are set in an old tube coach. It was quite an extraordinary experience, while I'll be repeating again in the near future.

Don't be afraid to do an old standard, such as a Blanton's Kentucky Bourbon on the Rocks. After all, your Flickr Friend, Thomas Hawk, is as much a fine Bourbon Connoisseur as you think you are. 😏 Cheers!!

Last shot from my night at New Gold Mountain in Melbourne.

You have nothing more important to do right now than just enjoying your dinner at the STRIP House at Planet Hollywood and watching your hometown NFL team stand up against the LA Chargers tonight on Monday Night Football! 🏈

This swanky and cozy steakhouse has been one of your favorite haunts since the first time you dined here in 2009. Many a week night, when your very lovely lady had gone to bed early, have you ventured out late to find this bar at the STRIP House a welcoming hideaway.

A cool little cocktail bar in the Arab Quarter, Singapore. Maison Ikkoku, ground floor is a cafe, the second floor is the cocktail bar.

Your very lovely lady has never dined here. The Mayfair Supper Club didn’t exist the last time you and your very lovely lady were in Vegas as a couple. All she knows about this wonderful date night dining destination are the fine images and telling commentary you have provided by way of your Social Media posts. So what would you do if your woman called you right now from Harry Reid International Airport and wanted know if you could call your boss at work and get two or three extra days of paid vacation time? 😏

Would you make that call! 😈

And why wouldn’t you bring your woman to the Mayfair Supper Club for dinner!
