Clock bits. Thank you to Bill of Clockworks in Hartlepool for letting me photograph in his workshop.

The clock tower at Reading University is dedicated to the men and women, connected with the university, who fell during the First World War. It was completed in 1924, and is now dedicated to all service personnel who have lost their lives during and since World War I.

Belfasts own leaning tower, the Albert clock was built between 1865 and 1870.

As its built on soft land, that has been reclaimed from the sea, the tower leans and only recently has had a restoration which included straighting it up a little.

The face of the clock is clearly labeled "International Time Recording Co., Endicott, N.Y.", an IBM predecessor company.

Prague Astronomical Clock or Pražský orloj is a medieval astronomical clock located in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic.

The Orloj is composed of three main components: the astronomical dial, representing the position of the Sun and Moon in the sky and displaying various astronomical details; "The Walk of the Apostles", a clockwork hourly show of figures of the Apostles and other moving sculptures; and a calendar dial with medallions representing the months.

The clock show of It's A Small World nearing completion. The doors that show the time are in the process of opening.

The Clock Tower is a turret clock structure at the north-eastern end of the Houses of Parliament building in Westminster, London. It is colloquially and popularly known as Big Ben, however this name actually belongs to the clock's main bell. It has also been referred to as St. Stephen's Tower.

This photo was taken just upsteam from the London Eye standing on the wall in front of Mc Donalds.

Jaffa Clock Tower on Yefet Street at the North East entry to Jaffa

Once upon a time, the icon of Royal Naval Dockyard was the old storehouse, with its twin 100-foot towers — one for a clock, one for a tidal indicator — and its walls 3 feet thick.

Clocktower Mall still serves as an icon of the old fort and as a storehouse of sorts, although updated a couple centuries and filled with arts and crafts, Bermuda tea towels and bun warmers, cedar oils, coconut cakes, Cuban cigars, dolls and puzzles, fragrances at duty-free prices, hand-painted wood carvings of tropical fish, ice cream and frozen yogurt, island teas and spices, ladies’ fashions, pink Bermuda cottages, sachets, shoes, sterling silver, snorkel gear, T-shirts, wind chimes, and such

Another water droplet refraction, quite a clear one, I think the pointer makes it

This is an old fashioned, pulse clock which - many years ago - was driven from a master clock. The master clock has long been disconnected and I was hoping to be able to donate this to the Ipswich Transport Museum as they have a master clock. But, my employer, in their infinite wisdom, what to put this in their archive.

Altes Rathaus (Old Town Hall), Munich.

Urban exploration (UrbEx) isn't something I typically do a lot of, but a close friend invited me to come along with him once, and I decided to give it a try. It was definitely an interesting and exciting experience, and made for some fantastic photo opportunities. Not sure if this is something I'd do often, but it was fun and unique!

The location is an abandoned hospital in rural Pennsylvania, which has only been vacant a few years, but the damage inflicted by vandals, vagrants, and scrappers has taken a considerable toll on building's integrity. Combined with fire and weather damage, it looks like it's been abandoned for decades, rather than years, and it's undeniably spooky inside.

This clock will never tick again.

Setting back the Clocks

made for a friend's 1 year wedding anniversary present.

The familiar octagonal Colgate clock, facing Manhattan, dates back to 1924 when it was set in motion on December 1 by Jersey City's Mayor Frank Hague. Located on the former site of Colgate-Palmolive & Company, it is a reminder of the time when factories dominated the Jersey City's waterfront. Its design was inspired by Colgate's Octagon Soap, a cleansing bar that is no longer produced. The surface of the clock is 1,963.5 square feet and 50 feet in diameter. The minute hand is 25 feet, 10 inches long; the hour hand is 20 feet long. The timepiece can be adjusted and is maintained to stay within one minute of accurate time. There was a small master clock at Colgate that was checked against the US Naval Observatory in Washington, DC. The clock's mechanism is like that of a traditional wall clock with weights and wheels but is powered by twenty-eight large-volt batteries that are recharged.
