The A/C at my office is not functioning properly, and the A/C guys have a limited staff due to a surplus of vacationing A/C repairmen. Thus, it roasty toasty. It may be affecting my brain activity, assuming there is any activity.

So, greetings to all of you wonderful self-portrait artists. I'm hear to learn from the pros, and to get some much-needed inspiration.

A great old clock in Kensington High Street - belonging to Henry Hallpike's shop. I can't find anything on the 'net to say how old this is. The clock is made by a company called 'Pearlray', and a Google search for that returns a blank, too.

(You might ask whether a clock which had stopped is a good advertisement for a watchmaker...!)

Cliveden Clock-tower by picqero

The clock tower at Cliveden House, in Buckinghamshire, was built in 1861, and was built originally as a water tower - which still functions today!

Cliveden has been the home to the Prince of Wales, several nobles, and Nancy Astor, wife of the 2nd Viscount Astor, and is now a luxury hotel.

Kern's Clock (1933), corner of Gratiot and Woodward, Detroit MI. [Built for Kern's Department Store which once stood at this corner. Kern's sold the store in 1957 and ceased operations in 1959; when the building was torn down in 1966, the clock was placed in storage until the 1970s. It was placed in storage again in 1998 for the construction of the Compuware Bldg., and restored to its current site in 2003.]
