Prague Astronomical Clock or Pražský orloj is a medieval astronomical clock located in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic.
The Orloj is composed of three main components: the astronomical dial, representing the position of the Sun and Moon in the sky and displaying various astronomical details; "The Walk of the Apostles", a clockwork hourly show of figures of the Apostles and other moving sculptures; and a calendar dial with medallions representing the months.
Astronomical Clock detail. The outer ring gives the time in traditional Bohemian notation (beginning at sunset). The second ring of Roman Numerals gives the time in traditional notation. The inner ring shows the position of the sun and moon in the twelve sign of the Zodiac. Note figures of Vanity and Greed to the left and Death and the Turk to the right. These figures move on the hour and the golden cock crows.

This is an old fashioned, pulse clock which - many years ago - was driven from a master clock. The master clock has long been disconnected and I was hoping to be able to donate this to the Ipswich Transport Museum as they have a master clock. But, my employer, in their infinite wisdom, what to put this in their archive.
The Balmoral Clock on the Balmoral Hotel on Princes Street taken from Waterloo Place. Another shot with the Lensbaby 3G this time with the f4 aperture ring in to get more blur. Wasn't the easiest shot to take to be honest. Focus on the clock face was a challenge even with the 3G. Happy enough with this though.
Eastgate Clock in Chester, Cheshire, England, stand on the site of the original entrance to the Roman fortress of Deva Victrix. It is a prominent landmark in the city of Chester and is said to be the most photographed clock in England after Big Ben.

Joe Johnson has worn many hats during his career. During college he was a student leader and got involved campus politics. He was also the editor of the student news paper while studying journalism. He went on to be the editor of two different weekly’s the Hartshorne Sun and the states oldest the Indian Journal. He ran and won five different terms as Eufaula’s full time Mayor. Johnson served as the Municipal Judge for six years. He was appointed to the Mvskoke Creek nation supreme court by three different chiefs and was selected by the courts other Justices to be the Chief Justice for ten years. Currently he runs a large career consulting firm as Executive Vice President in Texas.

Here's the little ingraham after I finished it. Made a new dial face on the computer, salvaged the face glass from an old alarm clock, replaced the burned out movement with a quartz chiming movement, and refinished the case. The burl grain of the walnut case is really nice.
The odd thingy next to it is a faux telegraph key I made one afternoon from lamp parts in the shop.... What? You don't have one on your desk? :)
My weekly recording barograph made by Negretti & Zambra ( www.negrettiandzambra.co.uk/index.htm ) has been running for nearly 50 years. The clock stopped last week so I dissembled it, cleaned many of the components with ultrasound and put it all together again. I hope for another 50 before the next clean.
The escapement has ruby bearings and claws.
A detail of the clock on top of S. Bento trainstation, Porto. This shot was taken at late afternoon and the golden colors in the station was really captivating.
Since I was using the 135mm OM prime lens and not a zoom lens, to frame correctly this shot I needed to take it from inside a shop on the other side of the steet :)
