This is a 2014 Mitsubishi Lancer
Not trying to be anything it isn’t, just a clean, well kept daily that’s been looked after properly. Practical shape, tidy lines, and the kind of car that works just as well parked up as it does getting driven every day.
The owner is Jake, a genuinely good young bloke who’s right into the car scene and the community around it. He rolled in early to the UMS car meet in Townsville in January and asked if I could document the car exactly as it sits right now, which I was more than happy to do. No hype build, no pretending, just capturing it honestly in its current form.
The light did the rest. Silver paint catching the afternoon glow, clean panels, simple details. This is what local car culture is really about.

Dear EPA,
Please support the strictest measures possible for clean car standards! And
support clean mass transit as well! I am holding my monthly travel card
that gets me around the city that I live in--buses, trams, and local
trains. The network is so good here (I am a US citizen living in Germany)
that I live car FREE. Now that is a clean car!

As students at the University of Oklahoma, we constantly see technology advancing. It pains us to know that the technology is available for cleaner cars, yet it is not put to use. Please return the right to set fuel efficiency standards to the states!

The United States needs higher fuel efficiency standards to get this country off its reliance on foreign oil that threatens our national security interests. Please help transform our motor vehicles into a cleaner running fleet nation-wide, reducing pollution and conserving natural resources for future generations.
Here's what I'm doing to improve air quality - I stopped using my
Suburban (circa 15 MPG) as my commuter car and bought a Prius (45+ MPG).

Why not offer the large car companies a contract instead of a loan? GM has
already built and deployed the EV. Ford has hybrids.
Just set up a contract for all electric vehicles to replace appropriate
autos, trucks and vans in the Government fleets.
GM gets all electric short range
Ford gets mid range SUV hybrid
Chrysler gets long range hybrid sedan
Dodge gets hybrid diesel trucks and vans
Use the existing retool money and a large down payment from the contract to
get it started. With a government contract surely private capital can be
found to support modernization and development. Then the auto makers can
sell to the public an efficient auto at reasonable cost.
