This is a 2014 Mitsubishi Lancer
Not trying to be anything it isn’t, just a clean, well kept daily that’s been looked after properly. Practical shape, tidy lines, and the kind of car that works just as well parked up as it does getting driven every day.
The owner is Jake, a genuinely good young bloke who’s right into the car scene and the community around it. He rolled in early to the UMS car meet in Townsville in January and asked if I could document the car exactly as it sits right now, which I was more than happy to do. No hype build, no pretending, just capturing it honestly in its current form.
The light did the rest. Silver paint catching the afternoon glow, clean panels, simple details. This is what local car culture is really about.

Dear EPA,
Here I am, holding the key to my Prius. YOU (the EPA) hold the keys to America's future of leadership in automotive technology. I'll be eager to trade in my Prius for an American-made car that matches its environmental performance, but industry seems to need government leadership to force it to build the cars that can be built to help turn around our planet's health. Here in Washington state we are ready to follow the California lead for higher fuel economy and emissions standards. Please help us implement these forward-thinking regulations.

Dear Persons of the Environmental Protection Agency,
You have the unique opportunity on March 5th to free the American people and economy from crippling restrictions on our automobile industry. Moreover, you can help steer our country toward participating more fully in a healthy environment. I am referring, of course, to the hearing to grant a waiver to the state of California to go above and beyond the federal 'mile per gallon' standard.
Granting this waver will allow the people of California to implement more stringent efficiency standards for the automobiles bought and sold in their state. This market-based encouragement will spur the automobile industry into redesigning old standby models and retrofitting their factories with the latest technology. Plus, they will once again have the potential to compete with foreign automobile producers who already surpass American domestic companies, all the while creating thousands of jobs for American workers here at home.
In our still declining economy, this waiver will allow consumers to save money at the pump, erstwhile encouraging investments in greater efficiency technology that will allow our country to become leaders in creating a cleaner environment.
As you probably know, 14 other states already want in on these ground-breaking standards. All that's needed is for you to open the doors of possibility for California, and one by one the rest of the country will follow. Please, allow our country to meet the potential we have in this very important venue. Grant California the waiver to implement higher efficiency standards for automobiles bought and sold in their state.

Please support the strictest measures possible for clean car standards! And
support clean mass transit as well! I am holding my monthly travel card
that gets me around the city that I live in--buses, trams, and local
trains. The network is so good here (I am a US citizen living in Germany)
that I live car FREE. Now that is a clean car!

Dear EPA,
Please grant California the right to enforce carbon emissions standards for
cars.
Fourteen other states have adopted CA's standards and are also waiting for
the green light. These states cover 40% of the U.S. auto market.
Implementing clean car standards would make a huge dent in our global
warming emissions, so I see no logical reason not to move forward on this.
My Car is on a Carbon Diet. Californians should have the same right.
