The technology is already here for a cleaner, greener America! It just does
not make sense to give a tax credit of $3,750 for buying a Chevy SUV hybrid
that gets 20MPG max and give $0 credit for buying a Prius that gets 50MPG.
We need to get our priorities in order and give incentive where incentive
will do the most good. I hope that the EPA will work for a future that we
can be proud to hand to our children.
Dear EPA,
Please grant California the right to enforce carbon emissions standards for
cars.
Fourteen other states have adopted CA's standards and are also waiting for
the green light. These states cover 40% of the U.S. auto market.
Implementing clean car standards would make a huge dent in our global
warming emissions, so I see no logical reason not to move forward on this.
My Car is on a Carbon Diet. Californians should have the same right.

I use my house roof solar panels to charge my electric vehicle. No
more gas.
So EPA, get moving forward. My truck is 10 years old and was made by
Chevy in their factory.

Please support California's wavier, allowing that state to implement higher
clean car standards that will reduce greenhouse gas emissions from cars and
trucks.
If California can do better that the current EPA standards, let them lead
the way. How can anyone really intend to block cleaner air standards? Who
could possibly gain from that?
Global warming is real. Kids with asthma are real, and need cleaner air now!

This is a 2002 RAV4-EV. It is an all-electric vehicle (ZERO gas!).
I've driven it 78,000 miles as of March, 2009. This is my only car.
I have driven electric vehicles exclusively since December 1999, first
with a GM EV-1, and now with the RAV4-EV. My car gets most of its
power from the 5.3kW solar array on the roof of my house. I pay about
as much for an entire year of electricity for my house and all my
driving as most people pay to fill up their cars for a month.
We need more cars like this!

This isn't about today! It's really about tomorrow and America's standard of
living. Tougher standards will increase transportation diversity and provide
a more balanced market place. The sooner we put stronger standards into
place and put people in the front of industry the better it will be for

As students at the University of Oklahoma, we constantly see technology advancing. It pains us to know that the technology is available for cleaner cars, yet it is not put to use. Please return the right to set fuel efficiency standards to the states!

I work for a company that sells Electric Cars, with the help of the EPA, we
could really make a difference. Even a study done by the EPA in 2007 showed
that they feel Electric Cars have far greater potential in terms of reducing
GHG emissions than any other technology (except fuel cells, which aren't
exactly mainstream yet). Plus it gives us motivation to clean up our
electricity generation and move away from coal!
