This Bad Boy Is A 1970 Dodge Coronet 500 2-Door, 5-Passenger Hardtop Coupe, Model [WP23], One Of 8,247 Units Produced, U.K. Registration “ALG 285J”. Despite The Period-Original “Super Bee” Emblem, This Car Is Not An Authentic Super Bee Model, But Actually A Performance Model Clone Build/Tribute Car, Although A Very Good One, At That.
Fitted W/ A Huge 7.0-Litre, 440-CID “Magnum” V8, W/ Holley Carb, And An Automatic Transmission Which I’m Assuming May Be An Original A727 “TorqueFlite”, Plus Aftermarket Auxiliary Performance Gauges Fitted To The Dash. Painted In Period-Correct “Flat Black” W/ “Brite Red” Tail Stripe, Has A Black Vinyl Roof.
This Particular Dodge Was Spotted Up In Kirkbymoorside, Ryedale, North Yorkshire U.K., In July 2017. The Car Is Owned By A Local Craft Butcher Who Owns/Runs A Long-Established Family Business. I Have Seen And Photographed This Car At Several Other Times Whenever And Wherever I Have Seen It, Including At One Time At A Local Classic Car Show Where I Was Lucky Enough To Hear The Magnificent Roar Of The Meaty V8 Engine While Driving Behind It.
It Is Always A Real Treat To See This Beauty Of A Brute Up Close In-Person! – Coolest Car On The Entire Street!
This Big Beauty Is A 1948 Chevrolet “Fleetmaster Sport Coupe”, A 2-Door, 5/6-Passenger “5-Window” Post-Coupe, Fisher Body, Model Code [2100 FK-2124], Registration “XVV 923”, Painted In “Oxford Maroon”, W/ Beige/Cream Interior, Presumably Still Had Its Original Engine – A 216.5-CID Inline-6-Cyliner, W/ Steering Column-Mounted 3-Speed Manual Transmission, Live Rear Axle Ratio Differential Would Be (If Unaltered) 4.11:1. This Car Was One Of 83,760 Fleetmaster Sport Coupes Produced For The 1948 Model Year, Out Of A Grand Total Of 799,756 1948 Chevrolet U.S. Passenger Car Models Combined.
This Entire Car Looked In Great Original And Complete Condition All Over – Whilst Maybe Not In Immaculate “Concours” Preservation, In Nonetheless Looked Like A Very Clean, Well-Cared For, “Driven” Classic Example.
Spotted In The Historic Market Town Of Helmsley, Ryedale, North Yorkshire, U.K. On The 5Th Of July, 2018. A Classic Fordson Thames Truck Was Also Parked Nearby.
This Vehicle May Have Been Imported To The U.K. Directly From The Sates Earlier That Year, As It Was First Registered Over Here In April Of 2018. As Of 2021, This Car Appears As “SORN” On The DVLA Archive, But Let’s Hope It’s Still In Good Hands. A Gorgeous Original Stock “Street Rod!”.
This Was Actually The Second 1946-’48 Full-Size Chevrolet Coupe I Had Seen In A Three-Year Period Up In The Area Of Ryedale, North Yorkshire. In Fact, This Photo Was Taken Roughly 10 Miles From Where I Had Pictured This 1947 Chevy:

We went to the Auto Pride Car Wash along Silver Creek Rd in San Jose, CA. She took her CR-V here as well and I also wanted a car wash so we brought my car here afterwards lol. Clean Cars, Clean Fuels day gave an opportunity to test drive alternative fuel vehicles, such as this electric car from Arcimoto.

After a long walk this morning I took the car over to get a mini valet.
It scrubbed up pretty nicely, but what never fails to surprise me is the clean wheels.
I don't know if it's technique, pressure washing, some kind of miraculous chemical or just sheer effort but I can never get my wheels thoroughly clean, while the valeters seem to manage it without trauma.
There's a moral to this story - just get someone else to clean my car. :)
