Preserved Brush Type 2 Class 31 A1A-A1A diesel locomotive 31438 at North Weald Station after working the 2E23 13:55 (14:10 RT) service from Ongar on the heritage Epping Ongar Railway (EOR) in Essex (UK).
31438 was built by Brush Traction at the Falcon Works Loughborough and entered service as British Railways D5557 on October 15th 1959.
31438 was withdrawn from mainline service by British Rail in September 1995.
Absolutely adore Class 31's. Cut my young trainspotting teeth on these in this British Rail blue livery at Chelmsford station on the Great Eastern Main Line in the late 1970s.

British Rail Class 180 'Adelante' Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) 180109 as operated by First Hull Trains at King's Cross Station in London (UK).
180109 was built by Alstom and entered service in December 2001. The Adelante's have had a troubled history with plenty of reliability and train operator issues.
Note the splendid Victorian architecture which dates from 1852.

Solitary class 86, 86501 trundles up the the WCML at Winwick with a Dee Marsh - Mossend train of empty steel carrying wagons on 29th June 1989. These trains were usually powered by pairs of electrics between Mossend & Warrington & vice/versa, but on this occasion only one loco was provided
My new Lego model of a Bulleid pacific; Merchant Navy Class '35005 Canadian Pacific'.
The Merchant Navy class were designed for the Southern Railway in Britain by Oliver Bulleid, and were built between 1941 and 1949. They originally had 'Air Smoothed Casing'; a type of streamlining. They were later followed the smaller and lighter 'West Country' and 'Battle of Britain' classes (which were identical apart from their naming). These were also originally built in streamlined condition. My other Lego Bulleid loco, '21C123 Blackmore Vale' is an example of an original condition West Country Class.
In the 1950s onwards, the Southern Railway was taken over by British Rail, who began to rebuild all 3 classes of the Bulleid pacifics, without the streamlining, to allow easier maintenance. This model is an example of a REBUILT Mechant Navy class.
The real '35005 Canadian Pacific' is now preserved at the Mid-Hants Railway, and I've seen her running many times.
BREL Freightliner Class 90 'Skoda' electric locomotive 90048 head north at Generals Lane overbridge near Boreham (UK) with a 4L89 Coatbridge - Felixstowe liner.
Bit of rushed shot with incorrect settings.. ;-)
Note the old grey Freightliner livery which was supposedly superseded in 2004.
Toton TMD open day August 29th 1998.
Introduced on January 23rd 1965, still exists however it is stored as unserviceable in January 2008.
Passing a lot of building work on one section.
Ran a couple of trains for a while, making sure track was not going dull.
In a rather rare Moment, Y129 and Y163 line up side by side on the 29th of March
This shot was taken on the Latrobe St bridge, a now popular location for me
