A shot of Adelina Falls in the Blue Mountains. The heavy rains of the past few weeks have resulted in good flows over the falls in the area. Adelina Falls in Lawson, is part of a circuit of waterfalls in the area.

Headed out as I was returning. Container loading cranes working behind them. Glorious day to be on the water!

USCGC Morgenthau (WHEC 722), commissioned on March 10, 1969, was the eighth of twelve 378-foot Hamilton-class High Endurance cutters (WHECs) built by Avondale Shipyards in New Orleans, Louisiana. First homeported at Governors Island, New York, Morgenthau was active in the Vietnam War, conducting underway replenishment, naval gunfire support, and patrol duties off the coast of Vietnam until relieved by a 311' cutter in 1971. Her current motto, translated from latin, is "Pride of the Pacific". Morgenthau is currently homeported at Integrated Support Command Alameda, Coast Guard Island, Alameda, California.

In 1977, Morgenthau became the first cutter to have women permanently assigned. (Wiki)

this was the criticaltits bike ride where 1000's of woman where cycleing around the plyer topless. i have never seen that many tits in my life

I thought I was heading for Upper Bridal Veil yesterday afternoon. But since there is no trail to either one of the two falls, I ended up at Middle. I was exhausted after the walk back, so Upper will have to wait for another day.

A better look

This is a small waterfall just a little piece up the path from the sipsey picnic area! This was flowing great this day and i'm glad i was able to capture it! As far as i know there isn't a name for this falls. But it sure is pretty. I love the log down in front it really adds to the shot i think :) Hope you all have wonderful days!

- www.kevin-palmer.com - Trail 3 at Turkey Run State Park takes you up into Rocky Hollow to the Punch Bowl. Getting wet is unavoidable and sometimes there is very little room with people hiking both ways. There are very narrow stairs cut into the wall on the left.

Double rainbow forms on the backside flank of a severe thunderstorm moving through Coles County, Illinois viewed from just outside of Fairgrange. This storm at the time of capturing was producing hail in the northeast side of the county by Oakland and would move into the Paris in Edgar County area causing a little bit of ruckus and damage to siding on houses.

Bald Island lighthouse captured at golden hour, before sunset.

This is a few miles away from home on a country road near Page County, Virginia -- I liked all the patches of bright spring green peaking through the snow. If there were snow covering the road, I would have been a lot happier with this shot. But even with the asphalt showing, I still thought it was worth posting.

The hike up through the trail was exceptionally beautiful - despite the rain and red muddy trails. Everything in this picture looks miniature - it really doesn't do the landscape justice ..

I decided last-minute to head out to try and catch the sunset on our longest day of the year. Sky colors were fading fast upon my arrival to the bench - I hurried to get an exposure. While I had taken other shots with better bench positioning and polarizer setting, this, my first shot turned out to be the best. Hope everyone enjoyed their solstice evening, no matter where you are in the world!

Pond in MIyazaki Japanese Garden, Red Wing Park, Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA. Only three things changed between photos 2a and 2b: The dead azalea flower drifted, I turned the circular polarizer filter, and I changed the focal point.

The Samyang AF 85mm F1.4 for Sony FE may be a game changer for a lot of people, offering up really fantastic image quality, quality AF in most situations, and a very nice build for an extremely good price. This is the kind of lens that could entice people over to Sony, and I'm personally a fan of the lens. If you want to know more about this exciting new lens, check out my coverage through the links below:

Went Downtown to run an errand and also capture photos and videos with my gear. Even flew the drone at World's Fair Park!

On occasion you look outside your window in the late afternoon and just have this feeling that the sunset is going to be spectacular - today was one of those days! I put the work down, grabbed the camera and took to the riverside.

Yesterday, I explored a new stretch of the rugged Northern California Coastline. This place had it all – big craggy rocks, little boulders, and huge waves. It felt so desolate and remote, yet on my hike out, I could still easily see the lights of the big city. Nothing energizes me more than discovering a beautiful place I’ve never seen before. I can’t wait to return. Here’s a shot from the time I spent in the impact zone.

Brother Rice High School

10001 South Pulaski Road

Chicago, Illinois.

(Just a snippet from Wikipedia)

Brother Rice High School is a Catholic, all male college preparatory institution in Chicago, Illinois, administered under the Congregation of Christian Brothers.

On the same block of land, directly to the east, is the all female Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School, while Saint Xavier University is just to the south of Mother McAuley, and to the southeast of Brother Rice.

Its enrollment is mostly drawn from local neighborhoods such as Beverly, Mount Greenwood, West Lawn, Morgan Park, and Ashburn, as well as local suburban municipalities such as Oak Lawn, Evergreen Park, Palos Heights, Orland Park, Tinley Park, Burbank, and Alsip. The Christian Brothers founded the school in 1956.

The school's namesake is the founder of their religious order, Blessed Edmund Ignatius Rice. It is affiliated with another high school of the same name in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.

Availing the freedom of the last "summer" day at work, I set off to find modest waterfalls within a short distance of Chicago. As it turns out (and to my delight!), about a half-hour drive southwest of the city resides the Waterfall Glen.

An autumn day at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois.

A Spider was parked on a downtown Chicago street and I could not help how striking the red paint was. A 24mm was attached to my camera and taking a shot so close that the nose of the vehicle looks exaggerated; but also adds emphasizes its sleekness. I'm not a car person, but it would be a lot of fun to take one these out for a spin.

217/366: The Forest Is Calling

I relish this view of the San Juan National Forest with the beautiful Apsen trees spread out among the wilderness which is the forest. The contrast of the aspen trees against the brilliantly blue sky and crisp green grass is so striking it makes you just stare endlessly into the beauty which is the San Juan National Forest. The fallen aspen acts as a leading line to bring the viewer right into the heart of the photograph.

Each spring, at some point during the Memorial Day Weekend, a trip to the Chicago Botanical Gardens is made. Again, the visit yielded amazing and colorful captures that I'm only too happy to add to the favorites bucket.

A number of benches were lined up along a path near the Sensory Garden. While quite visually striking, the plants beyond the benches provided quite a feast of delectable aromas such as sage & rosemary.

Please enjoy!
