This was a recent lifer for me! Added to my collection of Boreal, Mountain and Black-capped chickadees! Powell River BC!
A yellow crown, white underparts and bold chestnut streaking set this warbler apart. Seen at nesting grounds. Port Huron SGA.
Most of the Fall coloured Warblers are not as interesting as they are in their spring outfit, but the diminutive Chestnut-sided in juvie of autumn colouring I think (in my humble opinion) is just as nice if not more so.

Almost there.
Fresh conker from a horse chestnut tree.
A wild chestnut found under the tree, I recorded the ‘opening’, over almost 18 days. It was fascinating.
Aesculus hippocastanum is a large tree, commonly known as horse-chestnut or conker tree.
The horse chestnut's fruit is colloquially called a "conker" and refers to the shiny brown, poisonous seed that is protected by a green spiny capsule.

413) Chestnut Hooded Laughingthrush
Chestnut-hooded Laughingthrush, Pterorhinus treacheri
Another bird endemic to Borneo.
Another of my blurry Istanbul night shots...again played around with ps in an attempt to salvage.... :-)
The canyon below Chestnut Mountain on Bozeman Pass is filled with the sounds of a hard-working Burlington Northern freight pounding up Montana Rail Link’s eastbound grade on July 2, 1994. The location is at the old Northern Pacific station name of Chestnut, west of West End.
The chestnut-capped laughingthrush (Garrulax mitratus) is a species of bird in the Leiothrichidae family. It is found in Indonesia, and Malaysia. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. The chestnut-hooded laughingthrush was previously considered a subspecies.
I got many shots of this Warbler. I chose this one to post because it shows the plumage well despite a bit of leaf interference, and I like the front on perspective with its prey.

You are like a chestnut burr,
prickly outside, but silky-soft within,
and a sweet kernel, if one can only get at it.
Love will make you show your heart some day,
and then the rough burr will fall off.

Genesis 2:9
New International Version
9 The Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
While I am crafting chestnut animals and figures, I find myself back in my childhood – a beautiful return to the days of boundless imagination and joy. It's a heartwarming reminder to stay connected with my inner child and let creativity flow freely.
