One advantage of going north to Tennessee is finding the Redbuds still in bloom so I brought home the perch from my prior post and endeavored to put it to use in the Georgia Mountains.
My goal was this species and B1ackburn1an on the perch.
Thankfully it worked out and the early morning light was glorious!

A very vocal chestnut sided along the powerline trail. There were many of these chestnuts, blue wings, yellow, redstarts, etc. All active with the rain well into the morning!

A Cjestmit-sided Chickadee (Poecile refescene) comes in to our fountain bubbler for a drink.
The fountain is in the shade and the shot was into the sunlight.
A Chesnut-sided Warbler near Essex, Vermont
"The crisply plumaged Chestnut-sided Warbler is not your average warbler of the deep forest. These slender, yellow-capped and chestnut-flanked songsters thrive in young, regrowing forests, thickets, and other disturbed areas."

A common bird of second growth and scrubby forests, the Chestnut-sided Warbler is distinctive in appearance. No other warbler combines a greenish-yellow cap, a white breast, and reddish streaks down the sides.

The Chestnut-colored Woodpecker looks more like a cartoon character than a real bird. This one was photographed in the low country of Costa Rica. They feed on the usual insects etc but also on fruit. This guy is enjoying a green banana.
A Chestnut-backed Chickadee in Port Townsend, Washington
"A handsome chickadee that matches the rich brown bark of the coastal trees it lives among, the Chestnut-backed Chickadee is the species to look for up and down the West Coast and in the Pacific Northwest. Active, sociable, and noisy as any chickadee, you’ll find these birds at the heart of foraging flocks moving through tall conifers with titmice, nuthatches, and sometimes other chickadee species."

Wikipedia: The chestnut-sided warbler (Setophaga pensylvanica) is a New World warbler. They breed in Eastern North America, from Saskatchewan to the Maritimes. Although an observation of a male in breeding plumage was recorded as far West as British Columbia. They are usually found south of the 50°N, with the north-west Georgia as the most southern extent of their breeding range.
They overwinter in Central America to northern Colombia, with a confirmed sighting from as far south as Ecuador. While they mainly spend their non-breeding period in Central America, with the highest numbers in Costa Rica, the chestnut-sided warbler does winter in southern parts of Mexico and some north-western parts of South America.
Conservation status: Least Concern
A female Belted Kingfisher pauses long enough amongst the bare branches to allow me to grab a photo. I don't see these birds often, so I was pleased to get the shot.
I know this bird is a female, because the female of this species has a chestnut band across the belly, while the males are gray and white only. It's one of the few bird species in which the female is more brightly colored than the male.
