Le 22 mai 2010, les élèves-officiers (élof) du Collège militaire royal de Saint-Jean (CMR Saint-Jean) ont défilé fièrement sur le terrain de parade devant plus de 500 personnes à l’occasion de leur parade de fin d'année. .

L’auditoire se composait de dignitaires, d’anciens élèves-officiers, de membres de la famille et amis des élèves-officiers ainsi que de résidents de Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, tous venus assister à l’évènement sous un ciel nuageux. Pour la première fois depuis la fermeture du Collège militaire royal de Saint-Jean (CMR) en 1995, les 149 élèves-officiers portaient le traditionnel uniforme écarlate..

Les élèves-officiers défilèrent devant le dais d’honneur pour saluer l'Officier réviseur, le général Walt Natynczyk, chef d'état-major de la Défense. Sur la tribune, le général Natynczyk était accompagné du Commandant de l'Académie canadienne de la Défense, le major-général Daniel Gosselin, du Chef adjoint du personnel militaire, le commodore Andrew Smith, du Commandant du CMR Saint-Jean, le colonel François Pion, et du Directeur des études du CMR Saint-Jean, le lieutenant-général (ret) Michel Maisonneuve..

And here are the evening's chefs! That's Laurent on the left, assisted by his friend I've forgotten the name of, and Craig stepping into the picture while looking for a bottle opener. They are showing off the potato-and-cheese extravaganza they've prepared, about to pop it in the oven. You can hopefully get a sense of how spacious the boat is from this picture -- although it also shows the more unfinished aspects of Opium: all the exposed wiring overhead, and notice there's no insulation yet -- it got VERY cold overnight. Fortunately every morning there was hot coffee/tea/chocolate for all, and plentiful amounts of bread and cheese and of course butter on everything. Plus wonderful company -- the boat builder, Jean-Pierre, even stopped by each morning for a coffee before starting work. I've never been on a boat out of water before -- I kept expecting it to slosh around a bit, but it was unexpectedly solid and steady.
Thank you to all who participated in and joined us for Chefs' Feast 2014! A great time was had by all under the big top!
