This is more like it! First attempt at false-colour processing was OK but this has really come out nice.

Infra-red was, on film, always about experimenting... lots of it! The digital stuff is far easier to be honest. And far cheaper in the long-run.

Post-pro on this:

Open in Capture One

Use 'eyedropper' tool on one of the leaves to create a custom WB.

Export out as TIFF or JPEG and open in Photoshop.

Reverse the red and blue channels using the channel mixer tool [red tab: set red to 0% and blue to 100% and the opposite in blue tab].

Fine-tuning with a new adjustment layer: colour balance.

This was de-tuned on the cyan a little, blue boosted a little. Basically always trying to keep the white of the pole that holds the mirror as close to white as poss.

Nik Color Efex 3's 'photo stylizer' tool, used on pre-set 2. This really brought up the tree, as yellow by default which I liked.

Nik 'polarization' filter to boost the sky and tweak tone across the image.

Creatur of the Night, Desperado (220, 165, 1)

He told me his wife bought them from some wholesaler, at half the cost. There was no brand name. He told me that they were "cheap" and made in China. He said that they were comfortable nonetheless.

Yizhong Street is a shopping area and night market near many cultural and educational institutions: National Taichung First Senior High School (台中一中), National Taichung University of Science and Technology(台中科大), National Taiwan University of Physical Education and Sport(國立臺灣體育運動大學), the former National Library of Public Information(國資圖), ChungHsing Hall(中興堂)、Taichung Park(台中公園), etc.

There are many cram schools located in the Yizhong shopping area, the shopping area has in turn attracted more crowds and expanded rapidly in recent years. At night many food and merchandise stalls open up along YiZhong Street and it becomes a de facto night market, often getting very crowded. Along with Chungyo Department Store(中友百貨) located next to National Taichung University of Science and Technology, the entire shopping area has become one of the most popular locations for locals to shop and eat.

Many of the stores sell similar merchandise in Yizhong Shopping area, so due to the competition, the prices here are much cheaper in comparison with other areas of Taichung.

There's lots of gardening work to do.

This little fellow is hard working and comes cheap, just a few meal worms each day and he's happy :)

We found this interesting roadside stall in the back streets of rural Toogoolawah when we finally got out for a country drive a few weeks ago. It attracted my attention for a few reasons - the pumpkin patch next door to the house is obviously going gang busters and the honesty box has the lovely Kent or Jap pumpkins for $3 or $4 when they were averaging about $3.49 per kilogram at the local supermarkets. An average pumpkin at those shops costs $12 upwards.

Australians eat a lot of pumpkins and I must admit I love them. Being a collector of letterbox photos just meant this one was icing on the cake.

The ironbark timber is going to burn nice and slow and hot too.

It's cheap, it's fun, it's good for the environment. It's the red scooter of death. Now where are those stickers to pimp this ride?

Luang Prabang, August '04.

Good morning everyone. Just a short video of about 40 seconds long I'd like to share that was taken from the front yard of "the pond across the street".

The pond is small...maybe 4-5 acres in size. Bordered by some open space, 3 roads and two homes. During the winter months anywhere from 100 - 200 Canada Geese (Branta canadensis) visit almost daily. They usually spend the entire day there before leaving at dusk. The whole process is repeated the next day, then the next until Spring. Never do they stay overnight at the pond...while a group of Mallard ducks do year around.

On New Year's Day when this video was taken an unusually large number of geese spent the day at the pond. Way more than normal. I estimate there were at least 500...maybe more. A lot more since the video shows only about 2/3 of the geese at the time. I couldn't video the entire pond, or all the geese, because of some trees.

Quite often groups of geese will wander onto the front lawn in search of acorns...hence the reason for the title. Cheap fertilizer.

Thank you for stopping by...and I hope you're having a truly nice first week of 2017.

Often, the cheapest skirts can be among the best. I absolutely love wearing this black skirt. The length and flare are fabulous, and the fabric has a nice feel to it. However, it was just a cheap buy from Matalan :-)

First time getting to grips with my welding glass filter properly, pretty pleased with the result, definitely worth the £1 or so I spent on it...

While Larry and I were walking around the amusement pier we spied some foot massage machines for a quarter, and I said that was just about my speed, so Larry handed me a quarter and I gave it a try!

OMG......LOL!!! It almost rattled the fillings right out of my teeth.

My feet were all tingly and I had trouble walking back down the boardwalk!!

CP 6250, the former Soo Line 6050, was repainted somewhat recently. The half-ass stencil-job to the cab numbers on this old SD60 is already fading. Good Quality Canadian/American Craftsmanship.

Initially saying £2 until the end of March, then altered to June, now October! This is the second time 106 has had the text on its livery amended as the £2 fare cap initiative gets extended. But from Oct 31s it's confirmed to be going up to £2.50, so there is definitely an end date. Because RB has unrealistically low fares (model buses being cheaper to run than real ones), the regular fare is £2.20 anyway.

Because 103 was getting its light refurbishment for around a week, some other buses took its place on the 205 and on this occasion it was 106. It has the 205 to Beeston blind showing, which is only used twice a day, on the final two departures from Ruddington. They terminate at Beeston to head back to the garage in Chilwell instead of running the full route.

Got out the point and shoot to find something for OhioFoothills' May challenge (ends today). This fly was one of the little critters I found this week. I thought the prayerful look was the most appropriate for Memorial Day weekend, and originally had the title "The Eyes Have It". Jim took one look, and wanted me to change the title to "Cheap Sunglasses". He had ZZ Top on his mind. www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vR-9NQAPIA

It's been a gloriously cool weekend, and wishing all of you safe travels.

When you get up in the morning and the light is hurt your head

The first thing you do when you get up out of bed

Is hit that street a-runnin' and try to meet the masses

And go get yourself some cheap sunglasses

Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah

So happy to get a chance to use these Disney playset pieces this month. Chip and Mrs Potts are available now at Walmart. Cogsworth was a cheap flea market find from years ago. I found the yellow dress (on a doll) at the Salvation Army about 6 months ago. All worked out for today.
