Made a quick photo tent by placing 3 white cardboards,1 above and 2 on each side of the chain,on a white kitchen disk.To spread the light,the flash was placed under the top cardboard and facing up.Other color reflections are from the fruit basket i used to steady the cardboards and other surfaces.

Notice how each link of the chain is composed of 4 or 5 piled-up segments... Thus, at every pin, 9 such segments bear the load. This allows the use of smaller pins and makes for a lighter, more compact chain that can carry a lot of tension.
