made myself a Chakra key chain - tried to find a stone that would fit each colour as closely as I could... typically rose quartz is used for the heart, but I preferred the look of the green:

crown - white - agate

3rd eye - purple - crazy lace agate

throat - blue - sodalite

heart - pink or green - green adventurine

solar plexus - yellow - citrine

sacral - orange - carnelian

root - black - smoky quartz

An unusual grave. Its a flat stone bordered by the chains you see above. Do you think they want to keep them in?

A rain chain is attached to a gutter in place of a downspout. It looks a lot nicer and can be incorporated into the landscaping. It's also a lot of fun to watch during a rain storm.

This could be good news or bad news. Within days of my original post reporting the plight of this poor dog in South Haven, Michigan, I received a few emails from people involved with various animal protection agencies. I spoke at length with one woman from Dogs Deserve Better and she and I came up with a plan to help this dog. Two days after our conversation, I learned that the dog was gone. Our plan could not have been carried out that quickly so I’m wondering what really happened to that dog. His doghouse is gone and so are his owners. My in-laws have not seen their car in a couple of weeks now. There has been no sign of the dog, either. Could the owners have caught wind of our disapproval and brought the dog inside? Doubtful. Could the owners have picked up and moved somewhere else? Probably, since they were living in a rental property. Could the dog be living somewhere else with them now, still chained up outside? Yes, and that’s what makes me sad. Sure, my family and I do not have to see the dog chained up outside anymore but that doesn’t mean I still don’t think about him and wonder if he’s safe and warm and fed.

The fourth and deciding round of the Angus Bike Chain/SG Baker inter Duathlon series took place in October, 2000 in almost perfect, spring-like conditions at 1nikie Park. The 67 athletes faced a 4km run followed by 40km on the bike and a second 4km run to decide the home of the trophies for this year. The round was won convincingly by series leader James Ouchterlony, Angus Bike Chain, in a time of 1 hour 41 minutes and 49 seconds.

About this Shot

The Normanton on Soar chain ferry, I decided against taking it for a spin.

I added the vignette ages ago and can't bring myself to remove it from the shot. I like the shot but find the power lines in the background very annoying, if anyone has walked that stretch of the Soar they will know how tricky it is to get nice shots without them in.

Haven't taken any pics all weekend, so just delving into some recent shots I hadn't got around to handling yet...
