A capacity crowd attended United Way's Annual Community Breakfast on Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at the Poughkeepsie Grand. The event honored two community champions, Dr. Pamela Edington, President, Dutchess Community College (DCC), and Dr. Kristine Young, President, SUNY Orange, as well as two Champion Nonprofits, Nicole Fenichel-Hewitt, The Art Effect and Linda Muller, Cornerstone Family Healthcare. In addition there was a surprise performance by students in the DCC Performing Arts Associate in Science Degree Program - Melissa Ansari, Hailey Gallinari, Chloe Kramer, Benjamin Simonetty, Jonah Woodcock and Samantha Vega and a surprise check presentation by Key Bank Market Director David Lewing for scholarships at the two colleges. 09-13 December 2019 - our Capacity Building Domain team facilitated a 5-days training on Micro Enterprise Development (MED) for all team members of project 'Integrated Model of Sustainable Henna Cultivation' implemented by AT-GRASSROOTS SOCIETY (ATG) and Arpan Seva Sansthan in Dhakdi village, Sojat block, Pali district, Rajasthan. The project is supported by L’Oreal and has received grant from ASK.
The main objective of this intensive training was to build capacities of project teams on the concept of micro enterprise, to conduct market assessment, select enterprise and entrepreneur, develop of Business Development Plan (BDP) for the farm working in the intervention village.
