Offshore wind, currently around 3000 MW, has mainly been concentrated in northern European countries, around the North Sea and the Baltic Sea. Europe’s leadership is primarily attributed to public policy and a thriving wind energy industry. EU legislation mandates significant reductions of carbon emission, requiring, among other measures, greater usage of renewable energy resources. As of 2011, around 69 wind farms were installed or under construction in the EU. Europe has a total offshore wind-energy generation capacity of is 3000 MW (EAI). Other countries worldwide are also exploring offshore renewable energy including the Japan, USA, India and Eastern and Southern Africa (Wilhelmsson, et al., 2010).

In an effort to substantiate its cooperation with ASEAN, Bahrain hosted a virtual capacity building for ASEAN Secretariat staff today. The activity was organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain and preceded by a virtual Opening Ceremony, during which the Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for ASEAN Political-Security Community, Dato’ Astanah Abdul Aziz, delivered opening remarks. Participants from relevant desks under all ASEAN Community pillars at the ASEAN Secretariat and the representatives from Bahrain also joined the activity.
The lectures provided the ASEAN Secretariat staff with knowledge on Bahrain’s diplomacy in regional and global levels, including an understanding of internal structure and mechanism of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) with a view to implementing the outcomes of the first ASEAN-GCC Summit held last year in Riyadh. The activity also delved into Bahrain’s economy and Bahrain’s state of affairs and key initiatives in relations to promoting interreligious dialogue.
During the activity, lecturers from Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Finance and National Economy as well as Bahrain’s King Hamad Global Center for Peaceful Coexistence and the participants engaged in candid discussions pertaining to the abovementioned subjects.

A rare capture for me..Not the best shot but proof for me that my Chippie's do come up on the deck for their fair share of treats..I have discovered that they really enjoy raisins..most likely because they are very easy to pack into their cheeks..This shot was cute as I captured little Chippie cramming in the last raisin on the deck..into his already full mouth..
