JML35 is a swim-ended, rectangular, flat top deck cargo barge. It has two spud legs for precise position holding, a shallow draft, suitable for working in close to shore and a large deck load capacity, for bulk cargoes such as rock or heavy plant. Timber deck protection and a wave screen are also fitted for the security of cargos at sea.

British High Commission organized the Capacity Building workshop in North Eastern states of India at Sanskriti, SVD House in Guwahati, 31 October and 2 November 2015. The workshop was funded from the Bilateral Programme budget, which included 50 participants from all over North-East.
