“This workshop really provided a well-balanced approach to risk management, mitigation, and the various types of risks faced by organizations like ours in Pakistan. The workshop facilitator addressed the concepts in an accessible way, especially relevant for a matter that is being given little to no importance. I was also given the opportunity to speak on behalf of the Multan Electric Power Company Human Resources (HR) Department and apprise the audience on the company’s efforts in bringing positive changes. I urge all senior management to attend this workshop for their professional grooming.

(Pictured Above) Building Awareness on Risk Management in Power Distribution Companies: USAID Power Distribution Program in collaboration with the Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance, organized a workshop on “Governance of Risk”, facilitated by Mr. Fuad Hashmi. Overseeing the risk oversight process typically falls under the jurisdiction of the Board of Directors which is also responsible for deciding the company’s business strategy and business model, determining and agreeing on the acceptable levels of risk that go with both. The workshop was designed for the Board members of both Multan Electric Power Company and Peshawar Electric Supply Company to understand the concepts of risk identification, assessment and treatment. The workshop was attended by Board members of both power distribution companies.
