A summer inspired vanilla and raspberry cream filled cake that I made on June 15th, 2011. The flowers and bees are handmade from fondant.
Well it has finally happened... I made my first "The Office: cake. This is one of my favourite shows. So when my cousin suggested it as a theme for his cake I was so excited. I made Michael, Jim, Pam and Dwight out of gumpaste. I wanted to make everyone but after 3 hours my motivation started lacking a bit.

Celebrating Matt and Emma's 1st anniversary by baking a small version of their wedding cake. It was a team effort and we were so eager to eat the cake that night that the cake hadn't cooled down before we frosted it. So good.
Two tiered cake -- bottom layer is chocolate and top layer is french vanilla. Covered in vanilla buttercream. Embellished with white chocolate stars. Symbol is hand drawn using several tinted shades of buttercream.
My mum came over for the weekend so I have made some carrot cake for us. This is a last piece for the Monday afternoon to remind me of the great talks and laughs we had.

For those of you who are on the contact list of Lisa (thewholecaleandcaboodle) you will have already seen the 7 awesome ponies she made for me. I ordered them earlier this year, when I was so overworked and stressed out, that I couldn't comprehend how I could make the 7 ponies Poppy had asked for, for her cake. LISA TO THE RESCUE is how I managed it.
I haven't yet mastered the photo montage thingy - OK to tell the truth I have never tried, so I've had to upload the photos separately, to show a few angles.
An easy cake to make. To achieve to the coins I cut our circles and pressed a coin against them to give a money imprint. I used a good shimmer spray from the supermarket and used gold sugar for the sand. Cut out templates of features with card. Roll out red icing with yellow balls of fondant ont op to achieve a hankerchief effect for scarf.

Three tiers had banana cake and cream cheese italian meringue buttercream and the others three tiers had yellow cake with strawberry italian meringue buttercream. Banana was my favorite! :P

We got this german chocolate cake from a grocery store. It is actually very good. I always thought this cake came from Germany. But, it is actually an American cake created by an American guy whose last name was "German" back in 1852. Good to know these things.
