I like CSX and I like ES44ACs so when CSX came out with a new logo it gave me an excuse to build a dark blue ES. The new logo looks silly to me, but 4400 dark blue horses is hard to argue with. Very similar to my IAIS ES44AC, but with the added fun of glorious dark blue. Now on to those NS heritage ES44ACs!

That time I caught CSX Railroad working CMC Steel in Cayce, South Carolina. The crew from cmc normally worke the csx yard themselves with one of their switchers in the background, like the RLCX SW900 #905. but CSX often delivered or picked up cars from CMC. such was the case on this day in 2012 under a threatening sky.

I don't know what the next era of CSX will be but suffice to say it's down to the last Class 1 I care to shoot at this point. That doesn't have to do with the image or areas they run, but rather because the company is the last one representing any vestiges of my early railfanning years. If it goes, it's going to be like an old friend passing away.

CSX mixed freight train KH00 is led by a GP38-2 headed north for Shippensburg PA. Engine 2767 seen here leading was originally built in June of 1977 for Conrail and was originally numbered 8178.
If I'm correct on this, once the train reaches Shippensburg, it will reverse down a stub off the Lurgan Branch mainline to service the Letterkenny Army Depot.
CSX M300-06 heads East though Lloyd Street Crossing. With a nice freshly clean CSX 1776 Spirit of Armed Forces Pride in service unit leading the way and 5117 doing mid dpu having 544 axles.

CSX Chillicothe, Ohio local H776 backs into the Glatfelder paper mill with four cars. This track was a through route into the early 1970s, with trains rolling through the mill complex, until it was severed just west of the paper mill.
Yet another SD40-2 photgraphed in June 2009 on CSX! The SD40-2 is the best sounding locomoive ever! Comments Appreciated!
CSX WO119 Geometry Train at Mexico. The train is seen pulling through the stop boards at Mexico, where it would make a reverse move and head toward Virginia Ave.
CSX W001-13, an eastbound Track Geometry train rolls eastbound through the absolute last light of the day, led by GP40-2 6025. In addition to the normal consist, a new hopper car used for testing has been added behind the power.. February 13, 2017.
