Wherever you find dippers there are usually a pair of grey wagtails around. And sure enough there were.

This was taken at Lake Louise, one of the only shots from that Lake Louise that I like or say came out well. I wish I had some quote or title , but I can't think of one right now.

Another shot from our Zion Narrows hike we did couple of months ago. I was really intrigued by the color of the stones and rocks at the bottom of the stream and I used a warming polarizer to bring them out a bit.

Thanks for visiting and have a nice day..

The shipwreck that is behind me can be seen about 15 shots further into my photostream. The history of the cove is explained in the description of that photo.

Thanks for visiting.....

so.... I tried paddle-boarding for the first time. Where else would be more perfect? I mean, it's Bora Bora after all. Beautiful setting, calm clear waters.... so relaxing.

Here is the result :))) I am such an athlete. I think Otemanu had a good chuckle.

Sand Harbor beach during blue hour. Took this shot just after sunset. I still can’t believe how we got the beach all to ourselves without anyone walking through the frames. We made the trip to Lake Tahoe on an unusually warm weekend in spring. I am glad we were there enjoying this beautiful location before the crowds hit. This particular shot was taken using a polarizing filter and LEE Big stopper.

Thanks for visiting have a great Monday..

Recently I was fortunate to be interviewed by My Modern Met. Feel free to read it here: mymodernmet.com/adrian-klein-pnw-landscape-photography/

This photo is South Sister in Three Sisters Wilderness as the mountain makes an appearance at sunrise along Green Lakes. Taken in summer with heather blooming along the lakeshore. I look forward to the new permit process for this area and seeing if I can get one this year. Once I get back here, this year or future years, it should be very enjoyable like how it was when I took this photo and there were far fewer visitors.

Study of Light #2

Title Bending light when it passes through water. Why does it bend? Better ask a bloke called Snell (or Willebrord Snellius as he's know by amongst his mates), because it was his idea, and now it's become a law!

Image: An underwater shot of the very-bright sunlight coming through the tree-canopy as it illuminates the bottom of a pool. The water was crystal-clear, and the bend of the rays can be seen here... or that might be wide-angle lens distortion maybe?!

Surrounded by majestic mountains and nestled on the shores of crystal clear Lake Wakatipu, the beautiful Queenstown is a premier resort town in South Island, New Zealand.

Queenstown and the surrounding area contains many lovely locations used in the filming of the Lord of the Rings film trilogy and a few other movies.

This town boasts 200+ adventure activities (source: Wikipedia), including bungy jumping, paragliding, jet boating, and snowboarding, and is the largest centre for snow sports in New Zealand...but I've not ventured into any of these:-)

Today's post is one f those images that slipped through from our last trip to Lake Tahoe. I made this one at the Bonsai rock location just as the sky cleared for a brief moment when the lake reflected back the blue skies with a crystal clear reflection.

Thanks for visiting, Have a nice day..

This was taken after a very peaceful and memorable afternoon we spend at Bonsai Rock. As I was planning my trip to Lake Tahoe, I did a bit of reading and a lot of the photographers advices on spending time at the Bonsai Rock location and I decided to take their advice into consideration. When I looked up the location on google maps, it looked innocent enough and pretty close to the road. But when we reached the location we realized that even though the rock is pretty close to the road there is almost a sheer drop of about a 60-70 ft from the road to the lake shore. Add to the fact that the shoulder is made up of crumbling sand and rocks with no marked trails.

I was more worried about getting back from the shore to the rock in the dark so we decided to maybe avoid this location for this trip and comeback here maybe another time when we are better prepared. But at the hotel I stayed up late and researched the interwebs to figure out a better path to the shore and I finally found one and the next day we made it there around 5pm and spend some wonderful time enjoying this secluded location all to ourselves.

Best summer we had since we set foot on the British isles, no doubt about it! Last weekend we spent two days in a row at the seaside once again. On Sunday we drove down south to visit Hope Cove. We never explored the Devon coast that far south and were delighted! Getting there was an adventure - featuring the most daring single track road devoid of passing places.

Hope Cove is a small seaside village and offers two beaches - we chose the one that also acts as a small harbour. I read that Hope Cove had a reputation for smuggling and for plundering wrecked ships - quite the pirate cove! The photo shows the view from the little pier towards the sea. Crystal clear water, rock pools to explore, sunbathing, ice cream, sand castles....we had so much fun!! No vitamin D supplements necessary at the moment :-D

Suizenji-jojuen is considered to be one of Japan’s most beautiful stroll gardens and is designated as a historic site of scenic beauty. It is a pity that the serenity and the view is somehow spoiled by the city’s tall buildings surrounding the garden.

A holy lake high in the remote Himalayas of Spiti, is situated on the Samudra Tapu plateau. Also a Ramsar site. Absolute crystal clear emerald like water at 4300m m.s.l. and a location where there had been quite a few instances of UFO sighting reported in the past.
