Yeah, the spider is just creepy. It doesn't cast a web, it shoots out rope. Needless to say, I didn't like being near this guy for too long. I wouldn't say I have a fear of spiders, I just don't like them.
A busy morning on the towpath at Teddington Lock. One of a complex of three locks - barge lock. Two women steeped aside, surprised to to see a vehicle on the towpath
One of only 15 of these Art Deco Odeon cinemas surviving in the country, the Byron in Hucknall is disused upstairs. It was divided from a full height cinema in 1967 with the stalls being converted to a bingo, which still continues today. The 404 seat cinema closed in 2007 and sits silently in the dark.
I've made alot more trips to the Tidal Basin for the Cherry Blossoms this year then in previous years... Not positive I've gotten greater results, at least so far... I've got 3 rolls of Ektar 100 120 shot on the Pentax 6x7 to upload over the next week or so.
This little toad seemed really confused. I think he wanted to know if I was coming or going so that he could go the other way. Sure the neighbors got a kick out of seeing me laying on my stomach in the middle of the driveway trying to get on the same level as the toad.

Her second surgery, on Wednesday, removed the armature that had been emplanted in her bones. Now, she's in a brace for a while. Visiting nurses have been faithful. And, pharmaceuticals make the pain more bearable.
She's walking better! And, she's home with her family. No more nursing home. Thanks for all your thoughts, prayers, and "positive energy," over the last four weeks or so.

I got up early (for a Saturday morning) and left at 8 A.M I went once more to the Bospolder in Ekeren. I had lots of sightings of in total 3 grey herons. Some of them were rather close encounters.
These two seem to have been my best of Saturday 18 August.

This is my brother; a spontaneous shot I took on a walk today.
Really not happy with my photography at the moment...
So, 1100 wrenches went into the fender, 316 wrenches come out, gravity took the rest...
Ha! Actually thought this was going to be a lot worse than it was. 6 bolts to remove the hood hinge, 2 small ones to loosen the top antenna mount, and 1 (long) one to remove the lower mount. A little bit of finagling and it came out. The only real PITA was the lower bolt as I'm not a lefty and you have to work in reverse to get your hand in the fender. Currently en route to Texas to be rebuilt with a steel cable.
